A Complimentary Windstar Private Event

Culloden: Fields of the Bonnie Prince

Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Highlanders lost to the Duke of Cumberland on this enchanting moor. Windstar guests will get an extraordinary look at this epic event with an exclusive after-hours tour with expert guides.

At Fort George you will make your way to a marquee erected just for Windstar guests to enjoy canap├ęs and champagne.

Afterward, we’ll enjoy the most impressive part of this Windstar Private Event, Beating Retreat – a traditional military ceremony from 16th century England, first used to recall nearby patrolling units to their castle. Originally it was known as watch setting and was initiated at sunset by the firing of a single round from the evening gun. Over the centuries, it has become a rousing military and musical performance complete with pipes, drums, and marches.

Prepare to be moved by the rich history of Culloden and the stirring spectacle of this Fort George Private Event.

Please note: This Private Event has been scheduled in a way that will allow you to book and experience another shore excursion on the same day and you will not miss anything.
