Athens to Venice - 9 Days
Athens, Hydra, Corinth Canal, Delphi/Itea, Zakynthos, Butrint/Butrint National Park, Kotor, Dubrovnik, Hvar, Venice
Board your private yacht and go in search of the lost city of Atlantis, of jet-setters’ secret hideaways, of hidden “Blue Caves” where the azure light dances like quicksilver all around you. Explore islands fragrant with lavender, and taste fresh Cretan honey. Each new experience is intoxicating, provocative, makes you yearn for more. And more is exactly what you get. The imposing ruins of the Parthenon, the pensive ruins of the oracle of Delphi, the intricately layered ruins of Butrint—all inspire reflection on the past. Or focus your gaze on what lies ahead. Discover wonders only a small ship can take you to as you enter the narrow confines of the Corinth Canal, and go ashore in Hydra, a town where you leave automobiles and the modern world behind. The pièce de résistance: stay overnight in Venice, the city Lord Byron called “a fairy city of the heart.”

Windstar Private Event — New in 2015
Butrint: Bronze Age to Venetians
Your exclusive tour of Butrint, as part of this Windstar Private Event, will give you a perspective on an extraordinary place that traces its history from the Bronze Age all the way to the 19th century. Butrint was once a thriving port city – but today it is more than a mile inland. That loss led to its abandonment. We are now able to reclaim its development from pre-history, to the ancient Greeks and Illyrians, the Roman expansion through the early Christian era, and the medieval Venetians.

The grounds of Butrint feature some of the world’s most significant and beautiful Roman ruins. Foremost among them is the theater, which dates from the 4th century B.C. and seats approximately 1,500. You'll view a 6th century baptistry with extensive, beautiful mosaics. A canal and vestiges of Roman houses lie near the theater. And miles of imposing walls – impressive feats of engineering in their own right – surround much of the site.

Former Director and a Founder of Butrint National Park, Auron Tare will share a presentation at the theatre. Cocktails will follow the presentation, before we return to our yacht via Vivari Channel – a stunning way to experience the landscape of Butrint.
