Barbuda Caribbean Cruise

Guest Review: Wind Surf back-to-back cruises in the Caribbean

This year our annual voyage aboard the Wind Surf was a little different. We decided one week was not quite enough, so we sailed on back-to-back cruises in the Caribbean. Our trip involved two separate itineraries, the Yachtsmans Caribbean, and the Classic Caribbean.

It was wonderful to relax, and sail to even more islands than before. The crew, as always, couldn’t be nicer or more accommodating. But that is always the case on Windstar Cruises. We made new friends while aboard, others who were able to take some extra time away from the winter.

The first week Mark Spitz was aboard, and we chatted with him on several occasions. The Island Experience on Prickly Pear Beach, Virgin Gorda is always a highlight. We also love the deck barbeque, where we get to see how talented the crew is. The ship’s doctor actually sings and dances as well as attending to medical needs aboard. The second week we visited different islands. The twin Pitons on St Lucia were a beautiful sight, and our Captain slowly passed by so that we could enjoy the view. Again a beach party, this time at St. Lucia.

One island was repeated on both weeks, and that was our favorite – St. Barths. The shopping is enticing, and the island is beautiful. Some friends were aboard for the second week, and they asked if we would do back-to-back cruises again. A resounding YES to that question. One week is just not enough aboard Wind Surf! We are already planning the next trip – our 14th on Wind Star.

Not to forget, our May trip was aboard Star Pride, the first of the motor yachts. Beautiful!

Donna Watson’s remarks are truly hitting the tone of the trip. It was extraordinary. We were on Yachtsman Caribbean which was excellent, but next year we are hoping to do the “back to back”!

My husband and I are having a hard time deciding between the classic and the yachtmans. We have two small kids and taking the trip to celebrate our 10th year lwedding anniversary. Out of the 2 voyages which would you recommend? I read a review that the ports in yachtmans were sorrounded by a poverty, true? We took a cruise years ago that stopped in Roatan, Honduras and it was so depressing. Thank you!!

Thanks for reaching out, and happy anniversary! I haven’t personally done the Yachtsman’s Caribbean, however I had heard wonderful things about them and it’s a company favorite. I have done Classic Caribbean, and that’s also very nice. I think the Yachtsman would be your best bet.
