Osaka to Kyoto
Arrive at the Kansai International Airport (KIX) and an English-speaking guide will be waiting for you. Board your motor coach for the 2-hour drive to your Kyoto Brighton Hotel where you will have the evening at your leisure
Day 2 (B)
Kyoto Half-Day Tour
Following breakfast at the hotel you will board your motor coach for the 30-minute drive to Kinkakuji Temple, also known as the Golden Pavilion, built in 1397. Positioned by a tranquil pond, the 3-story Chinese-influenced pavilion has the walls and eaves of its 2nd and 3rd stories covered in shimmering gold leaf. You will stroll the exterior of the building and the peaceful gardens before heading for lunch. Then you will take a 30-minute drive to Nijo Castle a fortification of cypress wood built in 1603 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is adorned with wood carvings, artistically painted sliding doors and expansive tatami rooms. Then you will take the short ride back to your hotel where you will have the remainder of the afternoon and evening at your leisure.
Day 3 (B)
Kyoto to Osaka, Tour, Port
After breakfast check out of the hotel and you will have a 90-minute drive to the impressive landmark, Osaka Castle. One of Japan's most famous castles was built in the late 1500s. Built on a plot of land almost 1 square mile, you will see the castle compound contains 13 structures including the 5-story central castle building. You will spend a couple of hours touring the structures including a museum which house some of Osaka's most significant historical and cultural artifacts. You will then have a 30-minute drive to your waiting ship to begin your cruise.
Bring your hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, insect repellent and comfortable walking shoes. When visiting the temples shoulders and legs must be covered and no shorts will be allowed. This tour is not wheelchair accessible and is not suitable for people with mobility issues.
