The official symbol of Qingdao is the Zhanqiao Pier which features the picturesque Huilange Pavilion and the Wu Si Guangchang. Nearby is the Taiqing Palace, the birthplace of Taoism and over 2,000 years old.

You can walk across centuries-old stone bridges and explore hidden passageways allowing you to see into China’s past. The nearby island of Putuoshan is accessible by ferry and is home to very important Buddhist sites, including 80 monasteries and gardens. The main temple has a 110-foot bronze and gold statue dedicated to Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy.

Other highlights of Taipei include the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Park, Martyrs’ Shrine which is an excellent example of classical Ming Dynasty architecture, and the Confucius Temple.
