The imperial city of Hue is the spiritual heart of Vietnam and home to Nguyen Dynasty emperors. Admire the beauty of Hue’s bridges, canals, and lakes. And Hoi An is a tranquil 16th century trading town that has changed little over the centuries. Walk over the 400-year-old covered bridge, pausing to ponder the dog and monkey statues guarding either end.

Trace the city’s rich and varied history, through times of ancient culture, through political conflict, to its modern vitality. Your visit will include stops at the Thien Hau Temple where incense scents the air, and a lacquer workshop where skilled craftspeople ply this ancient art.

After a delicious local lunch, we will visit the legendary Ben Thahn Market, one of the city’s liveliest sites. Be sure to make room in your luggage for treasures you’ll find here.
