Embark on a far-ranging voyage to Greek temples, Holy Land shrines and Petra’s pink sandstone facades during this exceptional 11-day cruise and tour to Jordan, Israel, and Greece. Stand atop Jordan’s Mount Nebo summit and take in Promised Land views from Moses’ perspective. Walk among tombs, treasuries and temples carved into Petra’s pink sandstone canyon walls. Venture into the cavernous silence of the Church of the Annunciation and the Church of St. Joseph in Nazareth, the childhood home of Jesus. Stroll  the otherworldly landscape of Wadi Rum and through Jerusalem’s Old City to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and Stations of the Cross. Stand in the ghostly ruins of ancient Kourion and atop the walls of a nearby crusader fortress above Cypriot citrus groves. Sip pilsner paired with seared calamari and honeyed mantinades dough in a Rhodes neighborhood café. Embrace sea breezes in the shade of Mykonos windmills and venture inland to sample tart and tasty local Greek wines.

Day 1: Amman, Dead Sea
Arrive in Amman, the capital of Jordan and transfer to your beachfront resort on the Dead Sea. Relax on the shores of this famed ancient salt lake marking Earth’s lowest surface point on dry land—1,400 feet below sea level! Take off your shoes or sandals and go a little lower by wading or swimming in this unique hypersaline lake. Conclude your afternoon at our welcome reception and enjoy a delicious dinner inside the resort.

Day 2: Mount Nebo, Madaba & Petra
Savor a breakfast at the resort prior to embarking for Mount Nebo. Gaze across the summit to the Promised Land as Moses once did over a thousand years ago. On a clear day you can catch distant views of Jericho and even Jerusalem. Continue to Madaba and the St. George Greek Orthodox Church. More than a million pieces of colored stone create a Holy Land mosaic floor map, assembled in the 6th century and now recognized as one of the oldest maps in the world. Enjoy a Jordanian lunch before departing for the sandstone-carved ancient Nabataean city of Petra. Evening dinner is at your leisure.

Day 3: The Jordanian City of Petra
Awake to an early breakfast and venture into Petra as dawn sunlight illuminates the pink sandstone walls. Imagine yourself in the sandals of a desert trader thousands of years ago, leading your caravan through the narrow shade of the Siq entrance and seeing the columned, 130-foot-high Al-Khazneh treasury and the clamor of the Rose City’s busy inhabitants for the first time. Wander past the tombs, temples and palaces. Learn the 2,000-year-old achievements memorialized to the dead inside the Royal Tombs. Find your seat in an ancient amphitheater that once captivated audiences of 8,000. Lunch is provided in the park along with a guided tour and ample free time.

Day 4: Desert Adventures at Wadi Rum – Embark the yacht
Enjoy breakfast prior to embarking on a morning excursion in a 4x4 vehicle to Wadi Rum, an otherworldly landscape of lunar-like dunes and scoured sandstone. While you’re exploring Jordan’s largest Wadi, you’ll also have time to ride a camel. Then it’s time to board your flight bound from Eilat, Jordan to Tel Aviv, Israel and transfer to Haifa where your yacht awaits.

Day 4: Haifa

Day 6: Ashdod
Ashdod is one of the most ancient cities in the world. Visit the Korin Maman Museum, which has a permanent archaeology exhibition called “Philistian World,” Climb to Giv’at Yonah, the highest point of the city at 492 feet, with a city lighthouse atop and named after the prophet Jonah, believed to be buried there.  Ashdod is your gateway to Jerusalem, the Mount of Olives, the Western Wall and the Temple Mount.

Day 7: Limassol
Limassol is known for several historic buildings like the Limassol Castle, Built in 1000 A.D. and used as a prison from 1790 to 1940 with a collection of artifacts covering 400 to 1879 A.D. Sites to see include the Archaeological Museum of Limassol, which exhibits artifacts from the Neolithic to the Roman period and the Folk Art Museum with a Cypriot Folk Art collection that awarded the museum the Europa Nostra prize in 1989.

Day 8: Rhodes
This gracious oasis, known as the “Island of Roses,” was home to the legendary Colossus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Today it is a yachting paradise, whose shores are lined with sparkling beaches and lush green mountainsides. Day 10: Heraklion
Heraklion is the birthplace of El Greco, Nobel Prize winning poet Odysseas Elytis, and Nikos Kazantzakis. The major site of Crete’s biggest city is Knossos Palace, the Minoan-era castle unearthed by British archaeologist Arthur Evans. But the first site you will see is the Koules Venetian Fortress built in the early 1500s on the harbor walls, it houses restored interior and exterior reliefs of the Lion of St. Mark. A typical feature of Heraklion’s city center is the number of Venetian and Turkish fountains, the most notable being the Morosini Fountain, built to supply Heraklion with 1,000 barrels of water a day.

Day 11: Mykonos
Wake this morning to the postcard-like scene of Mykonos, the classic Greek isle dotted with hundreds of whitewashed churches and thatch-roofed windmills, in a harbor bobbing with fishing boats and luxurious private yachts. An optional  tour including a scenic ferry ride takes you back to the 6th   century B.C. to the tiny island of Delos, a UNESCO site and the mythical birthplace of Apollo.

Day 12: Athens
With 3,000 years of history, you can’t turn around in Athens without encountering the past. The Acropolis, a UNESCO site, the Plaka, and the Acropolis Museum are must-sees. But leave time if you can to climb Pnyx Hill for photos of the Parthenon at sunset, to buy your own set of Greek komboloi (worry beads), and to explore the metro stations that serve as mini-museums for the relics that are constantly being unearthed.
