Your route will take you west along the coast, past fine golden sands, turquoise waters, ochre cliffs and rocks sculpted into fantastic shapes. Before heading inland to Portimão, you will see a busy deep-water fishing port on river Arade, where brightly colored boats float in the bay.  Your first stop will be at Ponta da Piedade, perhaps one of the most extraordinary settings of the Algarve. Rocks carved by the wind and tides over thousands of years form caves and tunnels in an incredibly beautiful location. Continue to the  historical center of Lagos. Its sturdy medieval walls testify to its importance in the 15th century, when shipyards built the caravels. Reminders of the past can be seen around every corner, including the site of Europe’s first slave market and the Chapel of Saint Anthony.  Continue to the wild headland of Cape St Vincent, passing numerous small villages of white houses sporting decorative chimney pots. Sagres is the place where Prince Henry the Navigator built his School of Navigation and it was from here that his sailors set out to explore the world. The windblown Cape St Vincent, with its 200-foot-high cliffs facing the Atlantic, lies at the extreme southwest of Europe. Before returning to the yacht, you will have a photo stop at Baleeira Viewpoint where there are excellent views over the Algarve Coastal areas and its beaches.

Casablanca, Imperial City of Rabat

Depart via motor coach from the pier for your 90-minute ride to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Your first stop will be outside the Royal Palace, then on to the must-see Mausoleum of Mohammed V & Hassan Tower, containing the tombs of the late Moroccan king and his two sons.  Your next stop will be to the Kasbah Oudaya Medina, Rabat’s old district, full of maze-like streets where you will get a good idea of what a traditional medina in Morocco is all about. Meander down the hill to the Andalusian Gardens for a cup of Moroccan tea as you overlook the river and the city of Sale before heading back to Casablanca.

                        
 

 

Casablanca, Magical Marrakech - Full Day

You will leave the port of Casablanca in your air-conditioned coach for the 3.5-hour trip to Marrakech; a comfort stop will be made on the road. On arrival in Marrakech, you’ll drive to the Medina where you will start your tour with an inside visit to the Majorelle Gardens.  Enjoy a short walk in what was home to the late Yves Saint Laurent and houses a collection of plants from all over the world. Depart from the garden in a horse-drawn carriage  Lunch will be served in a Moroccan restaurant in the heart of the Old Medina.. Then you’ll continue your tour to the holy site of Medersa Ben Youssef. The current structure of this Koranic school was built around 1570 and is the biggest Medersa (school) in the Maghreb.  Then on to the labyrinth of souks.  Souk Smarine is a maze of colors, home to a bewildering array of stalls and ateliers devoted to specific crafts. End up at the bustling Djemaa El Fna Square, a multitude of street artists and stalls of dried fruit or orange juice freshly pressed as you watch.  This is the beating heart of Marrakech, where fire eaters, mime artisits, snake charmers and street musicians are performing at every turn. You will enjoy a cup of Moroccan tea at a local venue before returning to Casablanca.

Depart the pier for a scenic stop at the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Africa with the world’s second tallest minaret at nearly 700 feet, for an outside visit. Next, stop at a bustling local market , home to a cavalcade of color, charm, a fish market, scenic handicrafts, and spices. At Umayya Restaurant, your arrival is greeted with traditional Moroccan mint tea, followed by an informative cooking demonstration. Cádiz is the Iberian Peninsula’s oldest continuously inhabited city and lies on a narrow spit of land, surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea.  Your guided stroll begins at Plaza de España, near the port. In common with most other Cádiz squares, the nearby Plaza de la Mina was formerly a large vegetable garden belonging to the San Francisco Convent.  You will pass the Museum, and stroll on to Calle Ancha (Wide Street), where you will see several handsome 19th century palaces. Nearby, San Juan de Dios Square is protected by seawalls and features a unique marble fountain. But perhaps the Town Hall is the building that best reflects the grace and style of the city. After a 40-minute visit to the interior of the impressive Cádiz Cathedral, you will walk back to the ship.

Cadiz, Flamenco Show & Tapas

This evening tour will depart from the port of Cádiz for a visit to the historical center of town and its bay. Your guide will point out the important monuments and landmarks along the way. Watch for the Mudejar-style tobacco factory (1741) which now serves as the Congress building, Santo Domingo Church, the old Royal Prison in Andalusian neo-classical style and the Roman Theatre which overlooks the city’s main cathedral. Before reaching the city center, you will also pass the ancient Phoenician port of La Caleta, the Botanical Gardens and the castle walls that once protected the town. Then it’s time to leave the motorcoach at Plaza de España and start your walking tour through the most typical streets of the city. You will see the Plaza de la Mina, once a monks’ vegetable patch, and the outside of the Cádiz Museum. On Calle Ancha, there are beautiful 19th-century palaces. Flamenco, a vibrant mixture of dance, song and guitar is the heart and soul of Andalucía. Like the province, flamenco has evolved alongside the contrasting historic influences of Arabic, Jewish and Gypsie cultures. The Gypsies arrived from India in 1450 and have continued to be pivotal to the development of flamenco. Today, throughout the world there is a demand for a modern, youthful, ""flamenco fusion"" a blend of flamenco and world music. Obviously, there are differences of opinion between the traditional (cante jondo) purists and the performers of modern flamenco. End up the tour enjoying the most typical Spanish dance together with a drink.

Cadiz, Seville on Your Own

The tour to Seville will help you discover one of the most beautiful cities in Spain on your own.  Seville has the third largest cathedral of Christianhood, the Reales Alcazares de Sevilla. Seville's cathedral occupies the site of a great mosque in the late 12th century. Later, Christian architects added the extra dimension of height. Its central nave rises to an awesome 138 feet (42 meters) and even the side chapels seem tall enough to contain an ordinary church. The total area covers  124,000 square feet (11,520 square meters) and it is the largest church in the world. See the the Capilla Mayor, dominated by a vast Gothic retablo comprised of 45 carved scenes from the life of Christ. Also, take a walking visit around the Santa Cruz Quarter, the old Jewish area of the city.  This is the first barrio (area or neighborhood) tourists head for, and with good reason. It is the most picturesque and delightful part of the city, with narrow winding cobbled streets and whitewashed houses, where you can sit outside a bar, enjoy some tapas and watch the world go by, or wander through centuries-old gardens and relax on beautiful tiled benches. The area is bordered by Calles Mateas Gago, Santa Maria La Blanca/San José, the Jardines de Murillo and the Alcázar. The covered passageway heading off the Patio de Banderas (part of the Alcázar) called the Judería is worth visiting; enter the Patio from here and you'll get an unforgettable view of the cathedral.  Return to your dropoff spot to go back to the yacht.

You will start with a panoramic drive of the city of Cádiz where the guide will point out the most important monuments and attractions of the city.  You will then proceed to the beautiful village of Vejer de la Frontera. Vejer is one of the most picturesque spots in the south of Spain.  It was declared Historic and Artistic Collection in 1976. Its walled enclosure features four gates (The arches of La Segur, Sancho IV, La Villa and Puerta Cerrada) and two towers ( Mayorazgo and La Corredera or Castrillone). Outside the primitive walled enclosure lies the Plaza de España, built in the 16^th century, which, initially, held the bullfighting events organized by the nobles and knights of Vejer. For religious architecture, have a look at the Church of the Divine Saviour, constructed on the remains of a previous mosque, whose minaret is yet preserved. The styles go from the Mudejar and Gothic of the headboard, to Renaissance and Barroque. Some free time will be given to check the souvenirs shops or sit in any bar or cafe. Boarding the bus again, you will take the scenic “Atlantic Route," with its stunning countryside, passing by the Natural Park La Breña, a proctected pine tree forest with cliffs of up to 328 feet (100 meters). From the bus  you will see Trafalgar Cape with its lighthouse, that marks the place where the Trafalgar Battle took place in 1805, when the France-Spaniard troops fought against the English.

Gibraltar, Exclusive Mayor’s Parlour & Hidden Gems of Gibraltar

From the quayside travel north across Gibraltar's unique runway to the border between this small colony and Spain. View this remarkable border and the Spanish mainland beyond. Proceed along the outskirts of town, passing the American War Memorial and The Trafalgar Cemetery to arrive at Europa Point. From this vantage point you can admire views of the coast of North Africa, 12 miles across the famous Straits of Gibraltar. You will appreciate why this territory was and continues to be of such strategic importance to the British Navy. Your tour will then take you on to Rooke’s Battery, a now derelict artillery battery on the west side of the Rock of Gibraltar. The Battery has a plaque labelled ‘1906’ and is named after Sir George Rooke who commanded the British Fleet when Gibraltar came under British Rule. Move on to the nearby Windsor Suspension Bridge. One of Gibraltar’s newest tourist attractions, it is not for the faint hearted. This spectacular feat of engineering is 233 feet (71 meters) in length, across a 164-foot (50-meter)-deep gorge, affording magnificent views across the bay and city of Gibraltar. The Rock’s Apes spring to mind at the mention of the Rock of Gibraltar and here is where your next stop will take you. You will take a short walk down to King Charles V Wall, better known as ‘Ape’s Den’ which seems to be a usual habitat of the apes, which are indeed a breed of tailless monkeys (Macaca Sylvanus), that roam free on the rocky slopes. They are endearing creatures with a penchant for handbags to say nothing of cameras and hats. Reboard your bus, which will take you on a short drive to Princess Caroline’s Battery, a former artillery battery located at the northern end of the Gibraltar Nature Reserve. It was constructed in 1732 and named after the third daughter of King George II.
You will be transferred to the City Hall, to visit the Mayor’s Parlour and enjoy some cold canapes and beverages. You will then be given some time to roam the building in its entirety including the National Art Gallery. Have your cameras ready as you are allowed to take photos of all the works of art which are on display. Who knows, if you are lucky, you might even run into His Worship the Mayor of Gibraltar and get a chance to have a chat with him and even take a photo with him. You will once again board your motorcoach and be transferred back to the yacht.

Embark on a scenic 1-hour and 45-minute drive  to Cordoba to one of the most famous and impressive sites in Spain, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ten centuries ago, Cordoba was one of the greatest cities in the world, with a population approaching one million. The Capital of Muslim Spain and the center of the Caliph’s power, Cordoba was Europe’s largest city as well as a cultural and intellectual sear. Cordoba’s hour of greatest glory was when it became the capital of the Moorish kingdom of ‘El-Andalus’.  You will visit the Great Mosque, or ‘Mezquita’, which – after several centuries of additions and enlargements became one of the largest in all of Islam. Take a magical walk through the forest of columns, passing beneath its arches and breathing in the history of Arab Cordoba, so brusquely and surprisingly interrupted by the Christian Cathedral set in the center of its vast interior.  Continue to the Jewish Quarter and stroll through the quaint, ancient, winding, cobblestone and flower-filled streets. Just a few yards away from the small square Tiberiades – where the monument to the philosopher Maimonides stands – lies one of three surviving pre-inquisition synagogues in Spain. A Mudejar construction dating from 1315, the interior includes a gallery for women looking on to the sanctuary through small balconies, and  plasterwork of Hebrew inscriptions. You will have 90 minutes of free time to take the oportunity to taste the local tapas in one of the bars in the area or sightsee before another scenic ride returning to the yacht.

Malaga, Torcal de Malaga Hiking

Located approximately 19 miles (30 km) north of Malaga in the direction of Antequera, El Torcal Natural Reserve is home to some of the most beautiful and impressive karstic limestone landscapes in Europe. One hundred million years ago, the whole area was below sea level. Then, the Earth crust's violent movements forced the land upward into hills and mountains. The limestone still kept its layered horizontal formation. Beacuse of this, over the course of time, the rain and the wind have been able to chisel away at these layers to form incredible shapes.  You will board your motor coach for a 1.5-hour drive to El Torcal Natural Reserve. Then, you will visit the center of El Torcal and learn about its history by watching a 15-minute documentary. At this point, the trekking journey starts. It will take you over interesting valleys, linking up ascents and descents through a fascinating sector labyrinth. Once the route has finished, you will have time to taste Spanish tapas (tortilla and parma ham) and enjoy the viewpoint of Las Ventanillas that you will find next to the parking lot. From this viewpoint, you can see the Costa del Sol on a clear day.

Set against the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada mountains, the 8^th century fortress is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the only preserved imperial city from Spain’s Islamic period. Wandering through the sprawling complex, you will encounter the beauty and grace of Moorish architecture and design, including intricately carved ceilings, beautifully tiled floors, Moorish arches, unique columns not found anywhere else in the world, and walls covered in rich ceramics and plasterwork. The manicured gardens and hedgerows, elegant fountains and flowered archways are complemented by breathtaking views of Granada and the Spanish countryside. After visiting the Alhambra, continue to the royal summer palace of Generalife and enjoy a traditional Spanish lunch served with celebrated Spanish wine at the renowned Ruta del Veleta restaurant.

Located approximately 19 miles (30 km) north of Malaga in the direction of Antequera, El Torcal Natural Reserve is home to some of the most beautiful and impressive karstic limestone landscapes in Europe. One hundred million years ago, the whole area was below sea level. Then, the Earth crust's violent movements forced the land upward into hills and mountains. The limestone still kept its layered horizontal formation. Beacuse of this, over the course of time, the rain and the wind have been able to chisel away at these layers to form incredible shapes.  You will board your motor coach for a 1.5-hour drive to El Torcal Natural Reserve. Then, you will visit the center of El Torcal and learn about its history by watching a 15-minute documentary. At this point, the trekking journey starts. It will take you over interesting valleys, linking up ascents and descents through a fascinating sector labyrinth. Once the route has finished, you will have time to taste Spanish tapas (tortilla and parma ham) and enjoy the viewpoint of Las Ventanillas that you will find next to the parking lot. From this viewpoint, you can see the Costa del Sol on a clear day.

Málaga is located in the center of the Costa del Sol. Many ancient civilizations have left their marks, which you will discover in Málaga's rich archaeological remains and fascinating monuments.  From the outside. you will admire the beautiful architecture of the Alcazaba Palace, a historic castle built in the 11^th century to be the residence of the Arabian Caliphs or Kings. See from the outside  Gibralfaro Castle, built in the 14^thcentury, constructed by Yusuf I of Granada in the city of Malaga, on an old Phoenician enclosure that also contained a light that gives name to the Gibralfaro Hill (Jbel-Faro, or Mounts of the Light). You will also admire the ruins of the former Roman Theater of Malaga, on the base of the hill of the Fortress, Alcazaba, followed by a short guided walking tour from Plaza de la Merced for those guests who want to walk.

Málaga is located in the center of the Costa del Sol. Cartagena, Journey to Murcia

You are invited to enjoy a superb sightseeing tour in the charming province of Murcia. Departing from Cartagena by motor coach you will journey for one hour through the foothills of the Sierra de Carrascoy. Your destination is the capital of the province – Murcia. Settled by the Moors in the 9th century and conquered by the Christians in the 13th century, this bustling city offers a wonderful array of architectural delights. Your first stop will be the Monastery of the Virgin of Fuensanta (the Patroness of Murcia). Enjoy a panoramic view of the Murcian orchards, producers of the most fruits and vegetables in all of the Mediterranean. Then travel on for an external visit at the Murcia Cathedral, a medley of Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance architecture. The old building of the Casino of Murcia is your next stop before heading back to your ship.

Please note: There are 3 steps to get in the Casino and 3 more in each room inside with tiles on the floor.  There is a ramp in the monastery and most of the walking is on flat surfaces.  Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

Discover the fabric of the emblematic brand Licor 43, located just 8 minutes by bus from the pier. You will be guided through the museum and the production area of Licor 43. The guide will explain the origins of the company starting from an ancient Roman legend to the early productions during the 50s. Your tour departs from the port for the 1-hour drive to reach Montserrat, a peculiar rocky mountain range which is the site of the monastery where people come to worship “La Moreneta,” the black Madonna who is the patron-virgin of Catalonia.  The Benedictine Monastery of Montserrat was founded in the 11th century and is located in a natural park 37 miles west of Barcelona. Besides visiting the Benedictine Abbey Monastery, you will admire also the Patron of Catalonia, Saint Mary of Montserrat that is worshiped at the shrine in the Monastery. The Benedictine community, now numbering some 80 monks, has served the shrine for almost 1,000 years. They are dedicated to a life of prayer, to working and to welcoming pilgrims, making the site a place for dialogue, prayer and culture. In addition to the monks, the escolans also live in Montserrat. They form the oldest boys choir in Europe ( and might be available during the visit). You will be given a tour of the monastery, and have some free time before taking the coach to the airport.

There may be long lines to view the Black Virgin up close.  This excursion may operate in reverse. Access to the Basilica might be denied if mass is taking place.
