Amsterdam, Bike through the Waterland
From the ship you will bike to the ferry, which leads you away from the busy city and into the  particular beauty of Holland while passing vast and enormous green fields. Since the beginning of time, the Dutch people always have had a love-hate relationship with the water that is surrounding them. In the past a lot of flood disasters gave the Dutch people a hard time to live this close to the seaside. However, thanks to these floods Holland now has a spectacular scenery with green fields, waterways and polders everywhere. The water has created a beautiful, enchanting landscape! During this bike tour you'll discover this landscape yourself. You'll pass typical Dutch scenery with cows, windmills and flowers and you'll be able to see beautifully charming villages like Broek in Waterland and Zunderdorp. Biking through these villages you'll see that time stands still in these authentic towns. All this only a few kilometers outside Amsterdam!

Please note: Tour needs to be confirmed 1 week in advance. Final number of bikes is required 2 days in advance. Guests will use public ferry to cross the river. Venue for drink stop can change depending on availability.

Bruges, Flemish Countryside & Castle of Loppem
Tour through the typical Flemish countryside with a scenic drive to the quaint village of Damme. This Flemish village is steeped in traditional Flemish character. Use your free time here to stroll and explore or to sit down at a café and enjoy one of the many different kinds of beer Belgium produces (at your own expense). Damme is also known as a book town, with numerous bookshops and regular book fairs. Afterwards, you will drive through the outskirts of the historical city of Bruges for a view of the windmills and the impressive medieval city walls.  You will travel south of Bruges, where you will have the chance to visit the impressive Castle of Loppem. It was in 1856 that the future castellans, Baron Charles van Caloen and his wife, Countess Savina de Gourcy Serainchamps, appointed the English architect Edward Welby Pugin (whose father, August Welby Northmore Pugin, participated in the building of the Westminster Houses of Parliament) with the task of designing the plans. Loppem Castle later came to play a prominent role in the political history of Belgium at the end of World War I.

Please note: This excursion does not enter the city walls of Bruges, you only visit the outskirts of the city. This tour is ideal for guests who prefer minimal walking. For safety reasons, guests must be able to enter/exit the coach independently.
