Located in the jurisdiction of Saint-Emilion, Château de Ferrand is an enchanting 17th-century château surrounded by vines and overlooking the Dordogne Valley. It is a rare jewel that has become accessible to the public. The Château was built during the reign of Louis XIV. It was purchased by Baron Bich in 1978 and it is now the property of his children. Baron Bich is world famous for its ballpoint pen sold all over the planet, as well as its disposable razors and lighters. The function room and wine cellars have been elegantly and stylishly refurbished by a renowned Italian designer. The estate’s wines have been a leading light among the great Bordeaux wine estates for 300 years. In 2012 Ferrand won deserved recognition for the unanimously acclaimed quality of its wines when the estate was awarded Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé status. This ranking also rewards châteaux that have been able to develop their architectural heritage and make it available to wine-lovers. Ferrand has fully restored winemaking facilities and a unique function/tasting room. Everything here is designed to appeal to wine-lovers, wine professionals and visitors from all horizons. Tasting sessions are given by a sommelier, while the accompanying cuisine is refined and always perfectly matched to the range of vintages on offer. For food-lovers who are hungry to learn, you will participate in a Workshop-Menus combining useful tips with pleasurable culinary experiences.
