Santorini, Island Overview and Oia Village
Santorini, in the Cyclades Islands, has one of the most spectacular landscapes in all Greece. Traditional villages built on tall cliffs offer breathtaking views over a former volcanic crater, now submerged by the sea. Your island orientation begins with an ascent of Profitis Ilias (Prophet Elias) Mountain, for unparalleled panoramic views encompassing the whole island. Back aboard the coach, you will admire a range of inspirational views en route to the village of Oia. With its picturesque blue-domed churches, old 2-story mansions, and narrow cobblestone streets, Oia is the perfect place to fully appreciate the beauty of this remarkable island. There is no guided sightseeing during your 1¾-hour stay at Oia, so you are free to admire the picture-perfect views or perhaps browse among the tiny shops selling handmade ceramics, paintings and semi-precious jewelry. Finally, there’s a 30-minute drive to the village of Fira where the tour concludes. Once there, your guide directs you to the cliff road from where you may proceed to the cable car at your leisure to return to the ship.

Please note:  This tour involves winding roads and high altitude.

Santorini, The Ancient City of Akrotiri & Nomikos Museum
You will be transferred from the ship by local tender boat to Athinios port, where you will join the waiting motor coach. From here you will proceed toward the southern part of the island where you will make a quick photo stop at the ruins of an old windmill that has a panoramic view. You’ll re-board the coach and continue on your short narrated journey to the UNESCO Akrotiri Archaeological Site. There you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the covered excavations of this advanced Bronze Age civilization. You will be taken back in time as these amazing ruins leave you to imagine what life was like before the village was destroyed around 1650 B.C., by the eruption of the volcano.  It remains a question why there were no people left in the village at the time of the eruption, as it was abandoned for reasons unknown.  It is often said in a whimsical way that perhaps Akrotiri is really the lost city of Atlantis. Finally, you will be taken by coach up to the center of the island to Fira where you will visit the Santozeum to see replicas of the wall art found at the Akrotiri site. From there you may decide whether to stay in the town and visit the Museum of Prehistoric Thera that displays artifacts from the Akrotiri dig, or to make your way back to the yacht directly by taking the cable car to the pier below.

Corfu, Paleokastritsa & Boat Trip
This tour visits Paleokastritsa, the area of unique natural beauty on the northwestern shores of Corfu. It is known as the “Capri of Greece” for its rocky promontories cloaked in pine and cypress trees extending out into the sea, hiding small sandy bays and coves with crystal clear turquoise waters glimmering under the bright sun. In Paleokastritsa, you will take a 30-minute boat ride to the famous grottos of the area, the sea caves of “Nafsika,” “Saint Nikolas,” and the “Blue Eye.” Here, the natural ground formations combined with the minerals in the ground and the natural sunlight give life to amazing forms, colors and optical illusions. Upon your return to the main beach, you have free time to enjoy a refreshing dive in the turquoise waters, sunbathe on the soft sand or beach walk, before boarding the coach for the drive uphill to the traditional village of Lakones. You will be driving up the very same serpentine-like, narrow road where the famous car chase in the James Bond movie “For your Eyes only” was filmed.  In the village of Lakones, you can admire local village architecture more reminiscent of Italy than of typical Greek villages, before enjoying a “meze” (Greek snack) and tasting wines of the island at the local café at the “Bella Vista,” a location known for the spectacular and breathtaking views it commands over Paleokastritsa.

Depart the pier for the scenic 30-minute journey to Cilipi Village and the Novakovic Family Village Estate. It is situated in the fertile Konavle Valley in an old stone block of houses, well-blended with its surroundings. The authentic interior illustrates rural life. The food they will prepare and serve is mainly home-grown, while the olive oil is produced locally. Dubrovnik, Concierge Collection: Dinner at a Local Family Village Home
Indulge your senses with the picturesque beauty, romance and flavors of the Dubrovnik countryside. Depart the pier for the scenic 30-minute journey to Cilipi Village and the Novakovic Family Village Estate. It is situated in the fertile Konavle Valley in an old stone block of houses, well-blended with its surroundings. The authentic interior illustrates rural life. The family has lived in their traditional style home for generations, working the land, producing grape brandy, olive oil, and wine the same way their ancestors did. Your gracious host and chef, Mr. Niko Novakovic will introduce and prepare local specialties that will be cooked just for you! The food they will prepare and serve is mainly home-grown, while the olive oil is produced locally. Known from ancient times of Konalve area cuisine the Prsut (smoked ham), is regarded as their most respected food. The best complement to Prsut is cheese, and certainly bread baked under the Peka (iron bell covered with hot coals. One of the most famous meals is veal and potatoes baked under the iron bell. Times have changed, but the recipes and technology of preparing meals has remained the same at Novakovic Family house. The always fresh natural ingredients, and the old fashion ways of preparing them has long been a family secret. With this delicious meal, you will also have a glass of good wine, prepared from grapes grown in their own vineyards, kept for wine fans with special treatment. In a pleasant ambiance, far away from city jams, with your kind hosts, you will feel just like you were at home.

Your half day adventure starts near Fort Lovrjenac in the small port called Pile. Accompanied by instructors, you will set off by kayak to explore the caves and beauty of Lokrum Island where you will have free time for swimming or island exploring.  In the 12th century, Benedictine monks built a monastery on the island, and they occupied it for over 600 years. Just before departing Lokrum Island, enjoy picnic-style snacks and refreshments. Continue your kayaking trip to the hidden cave beach called Betina, where you will have a break for snorkeling and swimming. Upon your return, you’ll agree that this easy paddling in kayaks is a unique way to get acquainted with Dubrovnik from the seaside!

Sorrento, Herculaneum
The city of Herculaneum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was founded around the 4th century B.C., copying the geometric regularity of the layout of Naples. Its “decumani” (main streets) have an east-west orientation, while the “cardines” (narrower streets) run north-south. There is undeniably a “feeling” about Herculaneum, quite different from Pompeii, where you get the impression that its ancient population of 5,000 packed up and left only moments ago. Herculaneum was smaller than Pompeii but is better preserved simply because, while hot ashes consumed the wood of Pompeii’s buildings, Herculaneum was covered by hot mud which sealed and protected entire city blocks. This means that marble floors, mosaics, paintings and carbonized woods can still be admired today. You will discover the ancient luxurious properties and villas including the House of the Mosaic, the House of Deer, the Thermae (baths) and the House of Carbonized Furniture. After a guided tour, you will be driven back to meet the yacht in Sorrento.

Please note: This tour involves considerable walking on uneven pathways. Bring a sun hat, as shade is limited. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
