Quepos: Mangrove Wildlife & Boat Cruise
A boat ride through the mangroves is like visiting another world.  The species of trees that grow in the mixed waters of the ocean and the river make a unique and very fragile ecosystem.  Most of these trees grow along the estuary, developing an aerial root system. As the tide goes down the roots become suspended in the air creating a perfect home for crabs and caimans. In the upper part of the forest you will see monkeys and a great variety of birds including herons, egrets, and spoonbills. The launch will take you to a private property for refreshments as your naturalist tour guide gives you more information about this amazing ecosystem. Manuel Antonio National Park is the jewel of Costa Rica's large number of national parks. Its fragile rainforest ecosystem shelters a variety of wildlife including mammals and tropical birds. The dense rainforest opens into small trails where your naturalist tour guide will acquaint you with all the information regarding the transitional forest.  Another great attraction is the white-sand beach that meets the jungle. The park protects 683 hectares of tropical rainforest and over 1,000 different species of flora.  This walk is by far one of the best in the Central Pacific, and a great opportunity to get closer to the forest. The trail followed will be a moderate walk with paths made out of gravel, dirt, and sand. There are also exposed roots that you need to manage. After a 20-minute drive your 1.5-hour guided walk will lead you to the beach where you will have time for sunbathing or swimming. At the end of this walk your naturalist tour guide will prepare a tropical fruit buffet to regain your energy and then you will head back to Quepos where an optional drop off in the town of Quepos will be available.

Isla Parida, Chiriqui Gulf Fishing Tour
Here is a sport fishing opportunity with an English-speaking Captain and First Mate to the famed Panama Marlin fishing hotspots at Hannibal Bank, Isla Montuosa, and the 100-fathom line that runs along the southern edge of the Gulf of Chiriquí. These locations consistently tend to be the best areas to find Black and Blue Marlin. The underwater bathometry (or bottom structure) at these offshore spots rises up from thousands of feet and provides cover and slack current that baitfish like to congregate near. These baitfish are the staple food of these big Pelagics. And, when there is food around…chances are that the Marlin will be too! Although Black Marlin are caught every month of the year, the best time for Marlin here tends to be November through February and July through September. November through March you will see the most quantity of Marlin while Panama Marlin fishing. Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, (the occasional Striped Marlin), and also Pacific Sailfish are found in numbers these months around the bait concentrations at Hannibal Bank and Isla Montuosa. July through September, the beginning of the “wet season”, tend to be great months for BIG Black Marlin. We see many these months at the “high spots” around Hannibal Bank and Isla Montuosa as it is believed to be the time when the big females come around to spawn. Also a good time to fish…as there is less boat traffic offshore this time of year.

Experience the hustle and bustle of the picturesque capital of Grenada by comfortably strolling through its quaint streets.  You will begin your tour with a brief stroll through Fort George for some incredible views before you walk through the Sendall Tunnel, which was constructed to facilitate travel between alternate ends of the city in 1894. Just around the corner is the Grenada National Museum which is housed in a building which served as the French barracks from 1704. It later became two different hotels under different owners. Once you reach the north end of The Carenage, get your cameras ready as it is said to be the most picturesque harbor in the Caribbean and this vantage point will offer you some great photo opportunities. Pigeon Island, Sea Trek Helmet Diving
Imagine walking in zero gravity while surrounded by incredible aquatic life - that’s Sea Trek!  Sea Trekking is as close as it gets to the sensations of walking in space.  Take a walk on the “wet” side which brings you face to face with the marvel of marine life.  Your tour will begin from the gently sloping sandy beach at Pigeon Island.  All Sea Trek tours begin with a medical questionnaire and safety briefing.  You will be equipped with a specially designed Sea Trek helmet, which sits comfortably on your shoulders. Trekkers breathe freely underwater from a continuous flow of air pumped in to the back of the helmet through a hose attached to a pod system. There are no masks, no mouthpieces, no stress and no complications. You can even wear your prescription glasses, as your entire head stays dry throughout your underwater adventure.  Pre-certification is not necessary and swimming skills are not required. If you can walk and breathe, you can Sea Trek.  Just relax on the beach afterwards before heading back to the ship.

Please note: Due to a natural environment, there is never a 100% guarantee that a particular species of marine life will be seen.  Bring towels, swimwear underneath your clothing, sunscreen, cameras and US cash if you wish to purchase additional beverages at the Jambe Des Bois restaurant in the park. Vieques, Concierge Collection: Evening Bio Bay Kaykaing
Welcome to the brightest documented bio bay in the world. The very narrow inlet to the bay and shallow depth throughout promote the high salinity that the dinoflagellates (these are the micro-organisms that create the luminescence) need to prosper.  Red mangroves thrive on the edges of the bay and release the vitamin B-12 that these organisms need.  This bay has also been protected from development that could potentially produce light pollution that would take away from the brightness of the bay. You will be given a life vest and board 2-person kayaks to paddle approximately ¾ of a mile one way on the bay and use the wind to assist your return. The kayak tour will begin at dusk so you can see and learn about the mangroves and bay that provide the environment to support the bioilluminescence.  The kayak tour will continue after dark for you to experience the water sparkle around you; an experience like no other.

Please  note: Wear casual clothes that can get wet, swimsuits are optional. Watershoes are preferred, and all other shoes will be removed at shore. Cameras are highly discouraged as it is difficult to capture the glow in the water. All items that are not needed will be left in the van with the driver however the driver will depart to pick up the second group.
