Standing at over 4,000 feet above sea level, the views you'll see provide a magnificent panorama that stretches to the neighboring islands of Tenerife in the east and La Palma in the west. Making a number of stops along the way, you will have a myriad of opportunities to take photographs and enjoy the view. You will then begin your descent to the coast. Included on this tour is a visit the incredible Valle Gran Rey , home of the island's last "Guanche" Chieftain, and you will learn about the conquest of La Gomera at the beginning of the 15th century. Dominated by the surrounding curtain of mountains, you'll discover remote communities and terraced farms that cling to the valley walls all around. A short stop for refreshments in Arure will be made then route back to your ship in San Sebastian. Please note : This tour is not wheelchair accessible. From San Sebastian, the island's capital, you'll visit La Gomera's most interesting sights, traveling by motor coach. First you'll head north to the agricultural valley of Hermigua , famous for its banana plantations. The Garajonay National Park covers the southern part of this municipality and one of its landmarks is the twin rocks " Roques de San Pedro ." You will see the subtropical thermopile forest of Laurisilva Woods before traveling on to the small, enchanting village of Agulo . Surrounded by a massive basalt wall almost 984 feet high, Agulo offers a breathtaking view of the nearby island of Tenerife. It's a short 15-minute drive to Centro Visitantes Juego de Bolas in Las Rosas a center where you will learn the history of how the island was formed. Your next destination will be Laguna Grande in the middle of the National Park Garajonay, where you will enjoy a guided walk. Head to Agando , where you will see the magnificent landscape of volcanic basalt formations at Roques de Agando and Orchilla , one of La Gomera's most striking features at 4,074 feet high. Then, your motor coach will return you to your yacht. Please note: This tour is not recommended for wheelchairs or people with mobility issues due to the amount of walking required. All roads on La Gomera are winding and there are some ravines. It is advised that you bring your camera, comfortable shoes and seasonal clothes like a jacket are recommended.
