A short motor coach drive past olive trees and local vegetation brings you to the quaint 14th century village of Valldemossa, located at the foot of the Northern Mountain Range. Its former royal residence, La Cartuja , is the first stop on your tour. The residence became a Carthusian monastery in the Middle Ages and your guide will show you the chapel, a pharmacy, and the monks' library. Valldemossa's shining moment was in 1838, when George Sand and Frederic Chopin came to live at the monastery. Their stay here is well documented and a collection of their furniture remains. George Sand later wrote a book about their time here, entitled "A Winter in Majorca." You will have an opportunity to taste the typical sweets from Valldemosa called Coca de Patata, an individual sweet cake made with potatoes. The drive back to the ship will give you the opportunity to view the impressive cliffs to the north. Please note : Comfortable shoes with rubber soles are recommended. Palma is the capital of the Balearic Islands and lies on the southeastern coast of Mallorca Island. A wealth of architectural highlights awaits you. Board your coach and travel to your first stop at the circle-shaped 14th century Bellver Castle , one of the world's very few rounded castles and the only one of its type in Europe. Built in military-influenced Gothic style, it lies atop a hill affording expansive panoramic views over the city and surrounding countryside. You will travel on to the handsome 13th century La Seu Cathedral , which presides over the city and is one of Europe's finest examples of pure ecclesiastic Gothic architecture. After exploring the Cathedral's interior you will view the exterior of the adjacent Almudaina Palace . This austere palace was originally an Arab fortress and later the palace of Majorcan kings. Before returning to the yacht you will stop to see the unique style and architectural engineering of the city's famous bullring . Please note : Comfortable shoes with rubber soles are recommended. There are approximately 100 steps from the coach parking area to the La Seu Cathedral. Spanish law requires that motor coach guest's wear their seat belts at all times while in vehicles that are so equipped. On Sundays and holidays the Cathedral is not open to visitors. The history of the Cathedral will be given outside. When visiting the Cathedral, knees and shoulders must be covered. Bellver Castle is closed on Mondays and the visit will be from the outside only with extra time for shopping.

You will be passing almond and locust-bean trees, groves of olive trees and the lush and pine covered mountains. Arrive in Soller and take a walking tour around this charming village before returning to your yacht. Please note : Train ride will be one way and could be either going to Soller or coming back, depending on train schedules. The other way will be by motor coach. Your tour will depart for the 75-minute drive to the town of Porto Cristo, one of the oldest anchorages of the island. This fishing village is located at the end of a sheltered bay which developed in the Middle Ages to cater for Manacor. On the outskirts of the town is where you will find the famous Caves del Drach are located. The Caves of Drach are the most popular caves with tourists. There are three main caves, Cueva Negra (Black Cave), Cueva Blanca (White Cave) and Cueva Luis Salvator, at the end of which is a place called La Ventana (the window). Through La Ventana there is a huge lake, now known as Lago Martel (Lake Martel), behind which is the latest discovery of the caves, now known as Cueva de los Franceses (Cave of the French). Enjoy a row boat ride across Lake Martel, one of the world's largest underground lakes accompanied by live classical music. The beauty of the caves can be appreciated thanks to its exceptional lighting. You will stop in Porto Cristo, with a short amount of time to browse at the pearl factory . Please note : This tour is not recommended for guests in wheelchairs or with limited mobility. No cameras or video equipment allowed in the caves and no flash allowed during the entire tour.

This tour will offer the opportunity to visit several archaeological sites of the Talayotic culture of Menorca , a candidate to be declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2021. In addition, Menorca has already been declared a Biosphere Reserve back in 1993 by UNESCO. The chosen archaeological sites are set in very well preserved rural and natural environments , currently managed as farms. The first visit will be in the prehistoric village of Cornia Nou, located near Mahón city. Different talayots -like towers- and temples were built on a little hill. You will have the opportunity to see several monuments ranging from the Bronze Age to the Romanization of the island. You will make a stop in a local cafeteria to have a snack. Then, visit the site of Rafal Rubí (Alaior), an emblematic bronze age funerary monument, unique of the island of Menorca. You will see the funerary chambers and the funerary rites will be explained by an archaeologist. Visit the taula temple enclosure of Trepucó (Mahón). Here you can see the talayot, like a big tower built with large cyclopean stones, and behind it, you will admire a large taula and a beautiful sanctuary surrounded by a 18th century defensive wall, made by the Spanish army when Saint Philips Castle was besieged by the Spanish troops in the year 1782, when the island was under British goverment. The prehistoric wall that is surrounding the village was remodeled and improved, following canons of the influence Carthaginian fortification. Also, a magnificent talayot -a big prehistoric tower- can be seen at this site which stands out as having one of the most spectacular taula sanctuary enclosures. The Port of Mahon is the biggest natural port in the world (only after Pearl Harborr) and the most secure natural port of the Balearic Islands. Fornells, situated at the mouth of a long bay, is a charming fishing village where the natural beauty of this bay is underlined by the sober architecture of the white houses with green window shutters. Upon arrival in Fornells, you will have some free time for photo taking before heading to Monte Toro , the highest mountain of the island (1,171 feet) where you will admire both magnificent sights of the island and will also have the chance to visit the small chapel dedicated to the "Monte Toro" Virgin. Leaving Monte Toro, you will continue to Sant Patrici, a charming little town famous both for its beautiful views and the locally produced cheese (a strong tasting variety, mahonés, that delights people from all over the world). You will have a chance to taste the products. You will visit the Museum of Menorca dating from 1889. The actual building is a Franciscan Convent from the 15th century with a beautiful courtyard. The museum gives an overview of Menorca's interesting history. Time permitting you will be offered the possibility of tasting another great local product - free of charge -, the alcoholic drink known as Gin Xoriguer, the Mahon brewed, version of the "conventional" Gin. This is often tasted with lemonade in a cocktail known as "pomade" and is very commonly drunk by locals. The possibility of a guided walk around town will also be available upon arrival, or you can return to the ship comfortably in a coach. Depart the pier for the approximately 20-minute drive through the fertile north countryside to the fishing village of Fornells a picturesque fishing village, set on a magnificent bay of the same name. An important harbor in days gone by for ships to take shelter from the strong north winds, today this village is now a pleasure ground for watersports which include windsurfing, kayaking and sailing. Fornells is also very well known locally for its fish restaurants and the King of Spain is among the many famous people who come here to eat the Menorcan Caldereta, a dish based on local lobster. Your tour will continue to the largest sandy beach on the island, Son Bou Beach which backs onto the open countryside and is relatively undisturbed in terms of modern development. However, there are still some hotels, holiday complexes, a few shops, bars, restaurants, and a discotheque nearby. Upon arrival, a brief photo stop will be made at this scenic locale. Return to Mahon where you will leave the coach at the main square and walk downhill back to the harbor through the center of town. The walk through this attractive town gives one a glimpse of the different phases in the island's turbulent history, and the many architectural styles reflecting the frequent changes of rule. The center offers an interesting mix of narrow streets lines with whitewashed houses, wide open squares and grand historical buildings. Please note : This tour requires a moderate amount of walking and is not suitable for guests with limited mobility or guests who utilize a wheelchair. Distance covered is approximately half a mile (1km) on mainly flat areas with some uneven surfaces, gravel and cobblestones. There is a slight incline in Fornells from parking area to village. Wear comfortable clothing, walking shoes and sun protection.

This is an off road adventure on 4x4 jeeps following interior and hidden paths You will be accompanied by a knowledgeable guide who will explain each site are visiting. You will see the old quarry of Mares of Santa Ponça . The "mares" is the stone with which the majority of the houses of Menorca, the historical palaces and the churches of Ciutadella, Mahon Alaior and Ferreries are built out of. You will travel through Sa Roca's Wood , a beautiful big woods from where it's possible to enjoy an amazing view. You will see Santa Teresa's private farm , a typical Menorca farm where you will stop and have a snack of typical local products (cheese, ham, wine, fruit and vegetables) and have a rest. Then you will head to Cavalleria's Lighthouse situated at the very north point of the island.The view is amazing and it's possible, as well to visit a little cave from where the view is even more interesting and spectacular. Next stop will be the red sands of Cavalleria's Beach . You will spend a hour here to have a relaxing and refreshing moment before going back to the hotel. Please note : This is an adventure tour and the itinerary is mostly off-road. A good amount of bends, hairpin curves, off-road trails are planned in the route, and for this reason it's not suitable for pregnant women as well as guests with reduced mobility or back issues. Bring and ID card, sun protection, sunglasses, a towel, a swimsuit and a hat. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Do not bring valuable personal items of wear a lot of jewelry. The minimum age to participate on this tour is 8 years and guests under 18 years must be accompanied by at least one parent. There are 8 guests max per jeep. Jeeps will have a driver and guests do not drive the vehicles.
The popular tourist spot of Calvi with its crescent-shaped bay and gorgeous beaches, is distinguished by a large medieval citadel that overlooks the marina. Built between the 13th to the 16th centuries, it is basically an entire small town enclosed by fortified walls but offering panoramic views of the harbor and the Corsican coast. Another must-see is the "Big Pink Church," Orthodox-style L'Eglise Santa Maria and make time to take a walk along the Quai Landry esplanade, lined with interesting restaurants.

Calvi is an attractive town in an idyllic location between the sea and the mountains. As you explore, you will learn about Calvi's history, from its origins as a humble fishing village to a mighty Genoese stronghold, and now its current status as a picturesque vacation getaway. With your guide, begin your walking tour as you head to the entrance of the citadel perched on a rocky hill overlooking the port. You will cross the drawbridge and stop to enjoy a breathtaking vista of the red rooftops and the crystal-clear sea. Continue to the Place d'Armes and then to the St. Jean Baptiste Cathedral set at the highest point of the promontory. The cathedral, founded in the 13th century, was partially destroyed during the Turkish siege in 1553 and rebuilt in the shape of the Greek cross. Your walk will take you to the home of Calvi's most famous son, Christopher Columbus, born in Calvi on October 12, 1451. After viewing the exterior of this fabled building, you will pass the 13th century Caserne Sampiero, formerly the Governor's palace and now a military building. Make your way to the Oratoire St. Antoine to admire its Italian frescoes, then stroll along the city's ramparts and wander through the Ville Basse. The East: past Bastia and the sea leading to Italy. Finally North: the mountainous backbone of the Cap Corse. As the vineyard prides itself on quality over quantity, its vines are always pruned very short. Leave the pier to explore Ponza by private boat.The first wonder that presents itself will be the Grotto (or cave) of Pontius Pilate , also called the "Murenaio Romano," a very well-preserved Roman monument. Proceed to the Arc of Topaz, the Cape and the Faraglioni of the Virgin, which take their names from an ancient effigy representing the Nativity of the Virgin, preserved in a church, then rebuilt and now is the chapel of the cemetery. Admire the small Cave of Ulysses, very well known for its amazing light effects during the night , the beach of the Parade, the Faraglioni of "Calzone Muto." At the southern side of the island, the Stack Guard, takes its name from the overhanging mountain, whose summit is the highest of the island. At the top, on the tip of the promontory, is the lighthouse that casts its beams of light for about 30 miles. After the "Punta del Fieno" Hay, you will see Chiaia di Luna with its majestic cliffs of tuff white-yellow, which dominates the beach, the longest on the island. Discover the Cave of the mythological sorceress Circe who enchanted Ulysses.Continue to the Faraglioni di Capo Bosco, the famous natural swimming pools, and Cala Feola, the only sandy beach on the island entirely . See the rock called the "Turtle, "for its shape. You will also see the "Forte Papa" a 16th century building, commissioned by Pope Paul III, of the Farnese family, who owns the island. In the seabed here is the U.S. military ship, Liberty, which due to a strong storm went crashing among the rocks in 1944. Proceed to C ala Cecata, the Coral Cave, Cala Fonte, Beyond Cala Ferns, f rom where you can see the neighboring island of Gavi . The circumnavigation continues on the east side of the island. From here, you will see the Grotta del Bue Marino , Cala Gaetano, Cala Aprea, the shingle beach of Arco Naturale or Spaccapolpi, and the impressive Arc cliff. Not far away , you can see the Rock Aniell'Antonio and Cala Inferno, and the wreck of a merchant ship, Mary Constance . From the sea , you will see part of a Roman aqueduct whose waters flowed in large tanks in the Port area. Next will be Cala del Core then before the beach of St. Mary , you can see the Blue Caves. Finally, you will enter Port Bourbon, a semicircular port, built on the original Roman setting , that follows the natural curve of the coast. Your walking tour of Ponza Island will start with a short island taxi drive from the pier to the walking path on the side of the Guardia Mountain. Cross the Dragonara Area where a Roman Necropolis (3 or 4 B.C.) and a Roman aqueduct still lie underground (not visible). The drive will follow the Scotti area (named after one of the first families who settled there down under the bourbons, 300 years ago) and stop at the highest point of that area, under the feet of the Guardia Mountain (the highest mountain of the island with on its top a guardian tower of the Napoleonic wars) Continue on foot, following the old donkey path on the west side of the mountain which offers breathtaking views of the wild nature of this volcanic jewel. Admire the most beautiful bay of the island with its steep coast in piroclastic tufa rock, the Cap white with its formations that appear like little Towers and the flat and prosperous vegetation with lots of plants traditionally used by the islanders to cure small diseases. You will proceed, away from the common tourist routes, to the ancient wine cellar dating back to 1700 with the typical local biancolella wines (red, white and pink). Have a break, enjoy wine and local products while admiring the private vineyard and other agriculture lands before walking back to the harbor following the same 1-hour route. Its "decumani" (main streets) have an east-west orientation, while the "cardines" (narrower streets) run north-south. There is undeniably a "feeling" about Herculaneum, quite different from Pompeii, where you get the impression that its ancient population of 5,000 packed up and left only moments ago. Herculaneum was smaller than Pompeii but is better preserved simply because, while hot ashes consumed the wood of Pompeii's buildings, Herculaneum was covered by hot mud which sealed and protected entire city blocks. This means that marble floors, mosaics, paintings and carbonized woods can still be admired today. This tour by motorcoach will cross the plain of Laconia through its orange and olive groves, with the mighty Taygetus Mountain (7,897 ft.) in the background to arrive in Sparta , which today is a big, modern town. As the original Spartans cared little for buildings and lived a "Spartan" existence in barracks, their ancient architecture was simple and basic. Today, its scanty remains reflect little of Sparta's ancient renown. Four miles west however, sits the medieval town of Mystras, a UNESCO World Heritage Site , with its churches and houses, monasteries and palaces lining the steep narrow streets. For 200 years, from the middle of the 13th century, this Byzantine town flourished. From the mid-15th century to the beginning of our century, the town was in constant decline, with the exception of a few years during which it was under Venetian control. However, the magnificence of the Byzantine architecture , remarkably preserved and sensitively restored, gives you the impression you are entering a whole different age. Please note: The site is located on a very steep hill so flat rubber shoes are recommended.

Leaving Gythion, your tour will cross the Mani Peninsula to Dyros to visit the spectacular caves of Vlyhada and Alepotrypa , first opened to the public in 1963. You will ride for almost a mile through "caverns measureless to man." Aided by electricity, the splendors of nature are on show. You will see formations that look like, and are named after, great sites such as the Metropolitan Throne, the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Chinese Palace. At the bottom of one of the lakes of Vlyhada, often considered the most beautiful cave in the world, many interesting things have been discovered, such as fossils of hippopotami. After your cave visit you will drive to nearby Areopolis for a short stroll through the town, before returning to Gythion. Please note : Since the temperature in the caves is cooler you may want to bring a light jacket.
This Gibraltar-like town tied to the mainland by a single thread of causeway holds treasures that are old even by Mediterranean standards, with town walls and several churches dating to the 12th century. Climb to the upper town for an up-close look at the castle and Agia Sophia, a Byzantine church.
