Experience the Red Sea’s Sahara in 4x4 vehicles. Your expert drivers will take you on a thrilling ride while explaining the animals that call this region home and talk about the sycamore trees that are scattered along the way. You will then make a stop by a Bedouin camp where you will learn about the Bedouin traditions, ride their camels and eat their delicious traditional food for lunch before returning to the yacht.

This full day tour of Petra, a historical and archaeological city is famous for its rock cut architecture and water conduits system. Established sometime around the 6th century B.C. as the capital city of the Nabateans, it is a symbol of Jordan as well as its most visited tourist attraction. It lies on the slope of Mount Hor in a basin among the mountains which form the eastern flank of Arabah (Wadi Araba), the large valley running from the Dead Sea to the Gulf of Aqaba. Petra has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. UNESCO has described it as "one of the most precious cultural properties of man's cultural heritage. Petra still forms part of the domain of the Bedouin, and you will see them with their horses and camels as you begin your unforgettable trip into this cultural landmark.  After passing tombs outside the city, you come to the “Siq,” an immense crack in the Nubian sandstone almost one half mile long.  This winding fissure separates overhanging cliffs that appear to meet 300 feet overhead.  Near the end of the passage, the Siq makes one last turn with great style, and out of the gloom Petra's most impressive monument Al Khazneh (The Treasury) appears in the towering brightness.  Al Khazneh is nearly 140 feet high and was carved from the mountain’s solid rock in the 1st century B.C.  Film buffs will recognize it from its starring role in the final scenes of the movie “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.”  Beyond Al Khazneh you are surrounded on both sides by hundreds of Petra's curved and built structures, soaring temples, elaborate royal tombs, a curved Roman theater (seating 3,000), large and small houses, burial chambers, banquet halls, water channels and reservoirs, baths, monumental staircases, markets, arched gates, public buildings and paved streets. You will have buffet lunch at the Basin Restaurant.  “Petra was chosen by the BBC as one of "the 40 places you have to see before you die."

 

Please note: The pavement around the lost city is very uneven. Guests are advised to bring a hat or head cover, sunglasses, sunscreen, and wear comfortable walking shoes.

This trip will take you on a camel ride accompanied by Bedouin guides. You will pass through the desert and see it through the eyes of these nomadic people. It is a great chance to meet the Bedouin people and experience the real Bedouin life and culture. Share a cup of the Famous Bedouin Tea with habak, a mint-like herb that grows in the Sinai desert in the winter.

Board your motor coach from Sharm Port for your guided tour of the highlights of Sharm El Sheikh.  Known for the excellent snorkeling and diving in this subtropical paradise, the Red Sea is swarming with marine wildlife.  You will see magnificent Al Mustafa Mosque the biggest mosque in the city, which cost $20 million to build as well as Coptic Orthodox Church, considered one of the 10 most beautiful churches in the world.  Continue your walk to the Old Market, where you will have free time to see many cafés serving local food and shops selling jewelry, pottery, Bedouin slippers, and leather.  Appreciate the beauty of the long sandy beach of Neama Bay, where the first hotels were built in the 1980s and which boasts a promenade lined with flowers, numerous shops and sheesha cafés You will  walk around the city center, the Old Town, and Soho Square to see the Dancing Fountain show before you will be transferred back to your yacht.

Please note: Wear comfortable walking shoes and a hat, sunglasses, and bring sunscreen. Women must have a scarf to cover their heads in the mosque and the church and shoulders and knee must be covered as well.

Ras Mahammed National Park is one of Egypt's most popular dive and snorkeling sites, with a large variety of fish, corals, and sharks calling this part of the Red Sea home.  You will enjoy your private boat and an exciting day of snorkeling, exploring the magical underwater world of the Red Sea. Lunch will be prepared on board.

Discover Salalah by driving into the city and surrounding area to see the contrast between the lush vegetation of the Garden City and the barren, bleak landscape of the desert. Camels can often be seen roaming the roadside. In mid-2009 the massive Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque was opened in Salalah, 39 years after he had taken the throne. You will have the opportunity to wander inside the Sultan’s Mosque before driving through the grounds of the magnificent Al Husn Palace where you will be able to take some photos from the motor coach. The palace is the personal residence of His Majesty, the Sultan of Oman. You will stop at the Al Husn Souq and stroll among the vendors. The colorful stalls are heaped with mounds of frankincense, myrrh, incense, bottles of fragrant perfume oils, and a large variety of fascinating artifacts. Travel on to the Salalah Handicraft Centre where a group of artists, believing in the importance of transferring culture and heritage to the world established the center in March 2011. It consists of two exhibition halls, bride hall, museum, and working hall. Your center guides will be local Omani women who will explain the different crafts and how they are created. You will also have the opportunity to purchase the local handicrafts made by these women.

 

Please note:  In the Grand Mosque women must wear modest clothing which covers the body and a scarf to cover their hair.  Arms and legs must be covered to wrists and ankles. Men must wear modest  clothing and shorts are not allowed. Slip-on shoes are recommended as guests must remove shoes before entering the Mosque.  Food, drinks, and smoking are strictly prohibited. US dollars are accepted at the souq.
