Situated in the village of Choiseul with the Gros Piton as its backdrop, Green Haven fresh aquaponics farm awaits. Your excursion will begin with a drive through the town of Soufriere to the village of Choiseul where the Green Haven integrated farm is located. This is a family owned and family operated aquaponic and organic experience. On arrival, you will be welcomed with a refreshing beverage and taken on a short walk, learning a little about the history of the family and how they got started. Interact with a few family members and learn about their involvement in the development of the aquaponics farm which was established in 2010. It features a 32,000 gallon vertical aquaponics system, a green house, and an 80,000 gallon rain water harvesting tank, 8Kw of solar renewable energy PV system to power the farm, a compost pit, a medicinal and herb garden and a small café, where you will enjoy a farm to table lunch and an up close look at Gros Piton mountain. Green Haven as it is locally called, has also received the “Green Award,” Idea of the year Award, and the Prime Minister's Award for Innovation. After spending time immersing yourself in nature, interacting with a St. Lucian family and enjoying a freshly prepared farm to table lunch, it’s now time to sit back and relax before re-boarding your bus for drive back to Soufriere.
