Board your coach for the 45-minute drive to one of the best known resort towns in Croatia – Porec. By international standards, Porec is a cultural and historical jewel. Porec features two main intersecting streets, Cardo and Decumanus, which even today remain the backbone of the Old Town. Visit the Episcopal complex of the Euphrasian Basilica built in the 6th century and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Marafor, the oldest part of the town, still boasts the remains of two Roman temples. See the House of Two Saints, the Istrian Parliament Building, and the Leoni and Zuccato Palaces. You will have some free time to explore this charming little town on your own. Next you’ll have a short drive through the countryside to the village of Sveti Lovrec, where you visit the wine cellar of the Matosevic Family – one of the most well-known Croatian Wine Producers. You will be invited to sample some of their finest red & white wines, accompanied by some homemade cheese, Istrian Pršut.   

Board your coach for the  45-minute drive to Pula, a UNESCO World Heritage Site best known for its many surviving ancient Roman buildings, the most famous of which is its 1st century amphitheater. Known locally as the Arena, it is the sixth largest amphitheater in the world and is still in use today for summer film festivals. Continue your walking tour with visits to other notable and well preserved ancient Roman structures including the Sergius Arch and the temple to the God Apollo, built in the honor of the 1st century Roman emperor Caesar Augustus. Among other sites you will visit are the Roman city gates and walls and a Byzantine chapel. Head by motor coach to the nearby village of Vodnjan for olive oil tasting. Family Farm Chiavalon specializes in growing olives and producing top quality extra virgin olive oils. Their olive oil is listed among the 15 world’s top olive oils, and they have been declared the most promising farm in the world as chosen by the world famous guide, "L` extravergine." They have won numerous awards and surpassed many world famous brands. Back aboard the coach you will return to the yacht.  

Explore the beautiful city known as the 'Pearl of the Adriatic' on this walking tour. Take a walk along the Stradun, the glass-like main promenade that runs from the Pile to Ploce gates, following the line of the channel that once divided the town into two parts. Along the way, view some of the landmarks of Dubrovnik. See outside of the Franciscan Monastery with the Old Pharmacy, opened in 1317 and the third oldest in Europe, the Big Onofrio's Fountain that brought water to the town, the once mint and customs office that used to be located in the Sponza Palace, the Church of St Blaise – Dubrovnik's patron saint, the magnificent Rector's Palace and many other edifices created through centuries that made Dubrovnik the UNESCO site it is today. Upon walking along the main promenade continue toward the City Walls. The City Walls were completed in the 13^th century. The ramparts are intact and encircle the old city with a circumference of more than a mile and a half. Ascending the stairway at Pile Gate, you will soon reach the top of the wall where your guide will lead you on a walking tour along the  Walls. You will see the gorgeous Minčeta Fortress, St. John`s Fortress and Bokar Fortress. Reaching the Stradun, you will come in the very center of the Old Town and will have an opportunity to explore the town on your own before returning  back to the yacht.

A private motorboat takes you along the coast to Positano, once a sleepy little fishing village and the secret haunt of painters and writers. Its charms are still evident. Square, white Moorish-style houses are set in luxurious gardens, and descend in steep steps down the mountainside to the bay. Offshore is Galli Island, the legendary home of Sirens. Positano is embroidered with narrow lanes and steps and dominated by the splendid dome covered in polychrome majolica at the Church of Santa Maria Assunta. Piazzettas and cafés are filled with people pausing during the 100-step climb that leads up the hillside. Enjoy time at leisure for shopping and for a satisfying drink at a café.  

The city of Herculaneum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was founded around the 4th century B.C., copying the geometric regularity of the layout of Naples. Its “decumani” (main streets) have an east-west orientation, while the “cardines” (narrower streets) run north-south. There is undeniably a “feeling” about Herculaneum, quite different from Pompeii, where you get the impression that its ancient population of 5,000 packed up and left only moments ago. Herculaneum was smaller than Pompeii but is better preserved simply because, while hot ashes consumed the wood of Pompeii’s buildings, Herculaneum was covered by hot mud which sealed and protected entire city blocks. This means that marble floors, mosaics, paintings and carbonized woods can still be admired today. You will discover the ancient luxurious properties and villas including the House of the Mosaic, the House of Deer, the Thermae (baths) and the House of Carbonized Furniture. After a guided tour, you will be driven back to meet the yacht in Sorrento.  

From the pier, you’ll take a 1-3/4-hour ride by motor coach to the remarkable UNESCO Site ruins of Pompeii, perfectly preserved since the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Learn about the excavation techniques and what the residents were doing at the time of the eruption, and you’ll gain an insight into the lives of the ancient Romans as you discover baths, theaters, temples, markets and the huge forum with the Arch of Nero. After your tour, you will be driven back to Sorrento to meet your Windstar yacht.
