You will board your minivan quayside and travel past the American War Memorial and the headquarters of the remaining British Naval forces in Gibraltar as you head toward Europa Point.Here you will have a photo opportunity of the beautiful Straits and the Bay of Gibraltar, the Spanish mainland and the African continent. You will proceed to the Upper Rock area to visit St. Michael’s Cave and the famous Barbary Apes. You will drive past the Moorish Castle and the Tower of Homage to enter the Upper Town area’s narrow streets.

This tour will depart from the port of Cádiz for a visit to the historical center of town and its bay. Your guide will point out the important monuments and landmarks along the way. Moorish-influenced Seville lies in the heart of Andalusia, on the Guadalquivir River Plain. Become acquainted with one of Spain’s greatest and most beautiful cities. Travel by motor coach 1¾ hours north to Seville, which features many architectural highlights, including the cathedral, and Casa de Pilatos. After a 1-hour visit to the cathedral, you will stroll through the old Jewish area, known as the Santa Cruz Quarter. Artisans’ shops and quaint cafés occupy whitewashed houses crowded along meandering alleys and charming squares.  Following lunch on your own, you will take in a panoramic overview of Seville seeing such landmark monuments as the Torre del Oro and La Giralda Tower before taking a refreshing stop at the Plaza de España. It is connected by a step path to Gibralfaro Castle, an ancient Moorish fortress with breathtaking views of the city and its bay. Buses will take you to the castle so you won’t have to walk up the hill. The Museo Picasso Málaga is run by the Fundación Museo Picasso de Málaga and the Fundación Paul, Christine y Bernard Ruiz-Picasso. The Fundación Paul, Christine y Bernard Ruiz-Picasso is the rightful owner of the collection there, whereas the Fundación Museo Picasso de Málaga owns the group of buildings that holds it. As was initially agreed by the donors, the two foundations are responsible for the conservation, exhibition, study and diffusion of the collection. At the museum, you will be able to appreciate all Picasso styles and techniques (Painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramic and graphic works in an exhibition with 155 works ranging from 1890 up to 1973.

You’ll also visit the Roman Theatre, discovered in 1951, which was built in the time of Caesar Augustus and used until the 3rd century A.D. After that time, it was used as a quarry by the Moors to restore the Alcazaba, which is the next stop on your tour. This impressive building, constructed mainly in the 11th century, was the palace/fortress of the ruling Muslims. Just a few kilometers from the Port of Cartagena, this beautiful hacienda will delight you with the magnificent steeds of the ranch, pure Spanish-bred horses with fine bloodlines and a graceful appearance.  You will have the special opportunity meet the family and ask them questions. These carefully bred horses are sent to horse lovers all over the world. Looking and even touching the broodmares, seeing  the foals and new babies, watching the impressive stampede show, the Spanish Horse Training and the art of managing stallions are some of the things you will enjoy during the visit to the ranch. Your tour will depart for the 75-minute drive to the town of Porto Cristo, one of the oldest anchorages of the island. This fishing village is located at the end of a sheltered bay which developed in the Middle Ages to cater for Manacor. On the outskirts of the town is where you will find the famous Caves del Drach are located. The Caves of Drach are the most popular caves with tourists. There are three main caves, Cueva Negra (Black Cave), Cueva Blanca (White Cave) and Cueva Luis Salvator, at the end of which is a place called La Ventana (the window). Through La Ventana there is a huge lake, now known as Lago Martel (Lake Martel), behind which is the latest discovery of the caves, now known as Cueva de los Franceses (Cave of the French). Enjoy a row boat ride across Lake Martel, one of the world’s largest underground lakes accompanied by live classical music. The beauty of the caves can be appreciated thanks to its exceptional lighting. You will stop in Porto Cristo, with a short amount of time to browse at the pearl factory.

Palma is the capital of the Balearic Islands and lies on the southeastern coast of Mallorca Island. A wealth of architectural highlights awaits you. Board your coach and travel to your first stop at the circle-shaped 14th century Bellver Castle, one of the world’s very few rounded castles and the only one of its type in Europe. Built in military-influenced Gothic style, it lies atop a hill affording expansive panoramic views over the city and surrounding countryside.  You will travel on to the handsome 13th century La Seu Cathedral, which presides over the city and is one of Europe’s finest examples of pure ecclesiastic Gothic architecture. After exploring the Cathedral’s interior you will view the exterior of the adjacent Almudaina Palace. This austere palace was originally an Arab fortress and later the palace of Majorcan kings. Before returning to the yacht you will stop to see the unique style and architectural engineering of the city’s famous bullring.

 

Please note: Comfortable shoes with rubber soles are recommended. There are approximately 100 steps from the coach parking area to the La Seu Cathedral. Spanish law requires that motor coach guest’s wear their seat belts at all times while in vehicles that are so equipped. On Sundays and holidays the Cathedral is not open to visitors. The history of the Cathedral will be given outside. When visiting the Cathedral, knees and shoulders must be covered. Bellver Castle is closed on Mondays and the visit will be from the outside only with extra time for shopping.

             

 

 

 

One of the best ways to experience some of Mallorca's dramatic scenery is this train ride across the island that allows you to see the rugged interior. From the port, a short motor coach ride will take you to the train station. You will board the old fashioned electric train for Soller. Learn all about this old fashioned electric train that has preserved its traditional character for almost 100 years. You will be passing almond and locust-bean trees, groves of olive trees and the lush and pine covered mountains.  Arrive in Soller and take a walking tour around this charming village before returning to your yacht.

 

Please note: Train ride will be one way and could be either going to Soller or coming back,  depending on train schedules. The other way will be by motor coach.  You should always take your ID and  bring a camera, sun protection and sunglasses.

 

              

 

A short motor coach drive past olive trees and local vegetation brings you to the quaint 14th century village of Valldemossa, located at the foot of the Northern Mountain Range. Its former royal residence, La Cartuja, is the first stop on your tour. The residence became a Carthusian monastery in the Middle Ages and your guide will show you the chapel, a pharmacy, and the monks’ library. Valldemossa’s shining moment was in 1838, when George Sand and Frederic Chopin came to live at the monastery. Their stay here is well documented and a collection of their furniture remains. George Sand later wrote a book about their time here, entitled “A Winter in Majorca.” You will have an opportunity to taste the typical sweets from Valldemosa called Coca de Patata, an individual sweet cake made with potatoes. The drive back to the ship will give you the opportunity to view the impressive cliffs to the north.

Your tour departs from the port for the 1-hour drive to reach Montserrat, a peculiar rocky mountain range which is the site of the monastery where people come to worship “La Moreneta,” the black Madonna who is the patron-virgin of Catalonia.  The Benedictine Monastery of Montserrat was founded in the 11th century and is located in a natural park 37 miles west of Barcelona. Besides visiting the Benedictine Abbey Monastery, you will admire also the Patron of Catalonia, Saint Mary of Montserrat that is worshiped at the shrine in the Monastery. The Benedictine community, now numbering some 80 monks, has served the shrine for almost 1,000 years. They are dedicated to a life of prayer, to working and to welcoming pilgrims, making the site a place for dialogue, prayer and culture. In addition to the monks, the escolans also live in Montserrat. They form the oldest boys choir in Europe ( and might be available during the visit).  You will be given a tour of the monastery, and have some free time before taking the coach back to the Windstar hotel.

Setting out from the port by coach, you will find it easy to relax and enjoy this driving tour of Spain’s most fascinating city, Barcelona, a lovely Mediterranean stronghold of architectural interest. You will drive along one of Barcelona’s most famous streets, the Passeig de Gracia, lined with different Modernist buildings, many of which were designed by architect Antoni Gaudí. Watch for Casa Batlló, an iconic Barcelona landmark and Casa Mila. You will drive by one of Gaudí’s masterpieces – the Sagrada Familia (Holy Family) Church (outside visit). This is a site not to be missed. Though construction was started in 1882 it is still unfinished. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the most-visited building in Barcelona, and immediately identifies the city around the world. From here you’ll head up to the viewpoint in Montjuic with the most exceptional views of Barcelona and its impressive harbor.

Take a tour of the estate and its vineyards before stepping underground to the cellars, designed by RCR Aranda Pigem Vilalta Architects. Observe its structure which is made of recycled steel sheets with small openings to allow natural light to penetrate. The design allows very little light to enter, which allows the wines to be kept in a dark and quiet environment.  Next, learn about the wine-making processes and taste a variety of wines, including rosé, white, and red. Afterwards, enjoy a delicious Catalan farm-to-table meal composed of organic products grown on the estate, including milk cheeses, oil, and jam, all paired with the estate's extraordinary wines. Appreciate the produce from organic farming, additionally, they also have a professional shepherd who takes care of the animals, and who is responsible of maintaining the balance of the natural resources of their lands. During this tour, you'll see a great diversity of scenary such as rough coves on the coasts, forests, fields and medieval villages … and without much effort!  You will leave the port with the e-bikes, and head towards la Fosca, a pretty little beach with beautiful views. Continue the route cycling along the greenway called "Ruta del Tren Petit,” which used to be a narrow-gauge railway line. Head north, where you'll cycle along agricultural roads. As a backdrop, appreciate les Gavarres, a mass of of hilly woodlands that is important for the production of cork. Cycle through the plain of the Empordà and finally arrive at the medieval village of Pals. Its old center is dominated by a Roman Tower built between the 11th  and 13th  centuries.  You will find pebbled streets, half-point arches, facádes with ogive windows and stone balconies. The city wall has four square towers from the 4th  century. From Pals you'll have great views to the rice fields of the Ter River plain and the Medes Islands in the sea. After an escorted walking tour through the city center, a coach will take you back to the ship.

Begin your excursion with a scenic drive to Figueras, located in the northern part of the Empordà region, a sweeping fertile plain that lies inland from the Gulf of Roses. Enjoy the sights of small towns on the way to the highlight of your day, the Dalí Theatre-Museum. Prepare yourself for an extraordinary experience while visiting the museum, which houses the works of one of the art world’s geniuses of the 20th century, Salvador Dalí. Built by Dalí himself around the former Municipal Theater, the museum is where most of the artist’s works can be seen, and where his first exhibition was held. Dalí was also buried at this site alongside the church that was also the scene of his christening and funeral. Upon entering the museum, you will take in the huge collection that encompasses his most outstanding works. Highlights include Rainy Taxi, Sala Mae West, a scenography of a living room, which turns into the face of the legendary actress through optical illusion, and the enormous portrait of Abraham Lincoln. Also see the crypt where Dalí is buried. Upon departing the museum, enjoy some free time in town, to browse the shops in Figueras before reboarding your coach for the return drive to Palamos.

Begin this excursion with a scenic drive to Le Castellet - a typical Provençal hilltop village above the vineyards. This remarkable stronghold boasts well-preserved ramparts, a carefully restored 12th century church, and a castle dating back to the 11th century. Entering by the two fortified gates, called le portail and le portalet, you will start your visit with a guided walking tour around the narrow streets up to the castle which is now home to the town hall. Time at leisure will allow you to explore the arts and craft workshops - painting, pottery, and hollowware, before re-joining the motor coach for a drive to _Pavillon Fregate or similar. Upon arrival, you will have a short walk, to get a glimpse of this 70-hectares property, planted with 100-year-old olive trees and rows of vines, cypress trees, and lavender and will offer you 3 house wines and 2 house olive oils to taste. Then, your motor coach will drive you back to your ship.

You will board your motor coach for a drive to Aix en Provence. This was the capital of the Provence region and its attractions are many such as the print of the painter Cézanne. Upon arrival, you will do a walking guided tour of the old town, starting on the grand Cours Mirabeau; a wide avenue built on the site of the city's medieval ramparts. The avenue is one of the city's most beautiful, so be sure to notice the elegant facades of its private mansions, especially their wrought-iron balconies and finely carved doorways.  Explore the old Mazarin District, founded by archbishop Michel Mazarin in 1646, and later home to many writers and artists such as Paul Cézanne. The district is also noted for its meticulously kept walled gardens. Discover beautiful St. Sauveur cathedral with its many contrasting architectural styles, a legacy of countless additions and renovations performed between the 5th and 18th centuries. Most notable are the remnants of a Roman-era wall that were used in a later wall, and the 15th century Gothic portal.  Then, enjoy some free time at leisure for shopping or have a coffee “en terrasse” before driving back to your ship.

Your motor coach will take you to Monaco Rock where elevators and escalators transport you up to the Old City. Take a guided walking tour up the hill and through the narrow streets, past the Oceanographic Museum, and the Cathedral containing the tomb of Princess Grace and Prince Rainier. Visit the interior of the Prince's Palace followed by some free time to explore further on your own. Next, you will descend from the rock and drive on a small part of the Grand Prix circuit on your way to Casino Square. Your final stop is Monte Carlo, where you will first walk along the Formula 1® circuit up to Casino Square to discover the most prominent and famous building on this square - the Grand Casino, surrounded by the Hotel de Paris and the Café de Paris. You may want to stroll around the square admiring the designer boutiques, or try your luck with the slot machines at the Café de Paris Casino. Return to the pier or if you want to stay to explore more on your own, return to the ship at your leisure.

 

Please note:  This excursion involves walking over cobblestone streets and uneven surfaces, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. The walk to Casino Square is 15 minutes of steep uphill walking so not recommended for those with mobility issues. The order of sites visited may vary. The Grand Casino opens for visits only from 9 a.m. to noon. Gambling is allowed in the afternoon from 2 p.m. The entrance fee is not included (17 euros) and a passport is required for guests who wish to visit the Casino on their own in the afternoon. Shorts, short skirts, and bare shoulders are not considered acceptable attire for visiting the Casino and Cathedral.  The Prince’s Palace is closed during the winter season usually from mid-October to April. Official dates will be announced during the season. 

          

 

 

 

You will depart from Monaco for a scenic 60-minute drive to Nice, considered the Pearl of the French Riviera. You will disembark your motor coach for a guided walk and tour of Nice’s Old Town, known as the Cours Saleya, where you will see a fabulous flower, fruit and vegetable local market. Explore the surrounding area with its colorful houses, narrow picturesque streets and squares with their Italian flair.  You will  have free time to stroll in the charming little streets and to shop before re-boarding your motor coach for the return trip to Monaco.

Contrast this enchanting village with the stately grandeur of a seaside palazzo in exclusive coastal Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. Following a 30-minute drive you will begin a guided walking exploration of Eze along narrow streets and past recently restored medieval houses. You will walk to the garden at the top of the village and enjoy breathtaking sea views and the superb panoramas of the Italian and French coasts from this high vantage point during your 1¼-hour stay. Back aboard the coach you will continue to Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, one of the Côte d’Azur’s most exclusive destinations. The Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild was constructed in the early 1900s and lies on a promontory overlooking the sea surrounded by a splendid 14-acre garden.  During your 1¼-hour stay, there will be time to appreciate the gorgeous views of Villefranche and Beaulieu sur Mer Bays. From the Villa there is a 45-minute return to the ship.

Your guide will be pleased to meet you on the pier to start your tour by private car or minivan heading to the charming village of San Rocco by a panoramic road. San Rocco is a small hamlet, settled on the top of Portofino’s National Natural Park ( Site of Community Importance) , and is the starting point of a lovely path. The walk follows the coast line and stops in front of the little church of San Nicolò Capodimonte for a short visit. Proceed then to Punta Chiappa, a rocky formation jutting out into the sea, which is also a very interesting area due to a breathtaking landscapeand this site can be reached only by path or boat, no roads, no vehicles! All around there is  the coastline of Liguria, ahead Corsica, and behind on land there is the Batteria di Punta Chiappa hidden in the mountains. You will arrive at Stella Maris Resort and have the choice to swim (please note: no beaches and no sand, only rocks and water shoes recommended) or snorkel (no guide or equipment included, guest should take mask and fins on their own) or just relax on the terrace of Stella Maris Resort. You will then be welcomed with an aperitif on the terrace accompanied  by local specialties, and enjoy lunch including a starter and special homemade pasta with Camogli pesto sauce. After lunch, you will sail to  Camogli by boat to enjoy a guided walking tour among the highlights of this lovely fishing village.

Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site is also a National Park and Protected Marine Area.  Clinging to the Ligurian cliffs on the west coast of Italy are five castles at nearly the same distance from one another - Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. Today you will see two of these sites as the ancient mariners had - from the sea. Depart from the pier heading to Cinque Terre, or five lands, and marvel as you approach the beautiful coast with villages suspended above the sea, almost defying gravity. Pass the scenic Tigullio Gulf and Poet's Gulf, with terraced vineyards alive with the aroma of olive trees blended with the fresh ocean breeze.  Arrive at the village of Vernazza, where you will disembark the vessel and begin a guided walking tour of this 1st century village. Notice the richness of its architecture, which evinces a wealthier standard of living than that of other villages. Following your tour, you will have free time to browse the local shops or enjoy a cafe. Reboard your boat and proceed to the next stop, the most westerly village and Cinque Terre's beach town, Monterosso. The town is divided into two distinct parts, San Cristoforo Hill, and the old maritime village protected by a rock spur. After your guide points out the highlights of Monterosso, you will have some free time to explore on your own, enjoy the beach and purchase your lunch. Meet the guide after free time and enjoy a relaxing panoramic cruise back to Santa Margherita.

You will pass elegant villas nestled among rich tropical vegetation and olive trees. Continue walking on to Santa Anna and Nozarego and finally you will arrive at the main promenade of Santa Margherita Ligure. Santa Margherita’s colors, the arrangement of its characteristic houses, its rich villas and great hotels have painted around its bay something similar to a magical reflection. Pause for refreshment at a café and then you will return to Portofino by minivan, or you may choose to remain in Santa Margherita to stroll around on your own and go back to Portofino by taxi, public ferry or public bus.

Emperor Napoleon was exiled on the island of Elba for 300 days beginning in May 1814. Take a look at that fascinating bygone era on this tour that will include one of his two island residences. You will visit his country residence (Villa San Martino). Visiting the Villa San Martino country home you will see the Room of the Doves, whose ceiling is adorned with a painting depicting two doves linked by a knotted ribbon that tightens as they fly further away. By way of contrast, the Egyptian Room has a circular ceiling painting featuring a ring of Zodiac signs.  You will stop at the picturesque Port Azzuro, one of the most pleasant seaside areas you’ll ever see.  You will have free time in Port Azzuro perhaps enjoying an espresso, a gelato or strolling the pedestrian paths or the harbor.

Offshore is Galli Island, legendary home of Sirens. Positano town is embroidered with narrow lanes and steps, and is dominated by the splendid dome of Santa Maria Assunta covered in polychrome majolica. Piazzetta and cafés are crowded by people relaxing after climbing the hundreds of steps up the hillside (not compulsory). Enjoy time at leisure for shopping and sit for a  drink at a café.  Continue your ride to Amalfi, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Between 839 and around 1200, Amalfi was the capital of the Maritime Republic known as the Duchy of Amalfi, an important trading power in the Mediterranean directly competing with Pisa, Venice, and Genoa. After a visit to the Cloister of Paradise, built between 1266 and 1268, with its white columns and pointed arches that reflects a clear influence of the Arab domination, you will have some free time for shopping or exploring around. You will meet your guide at the pier and board a shuttle bus for the 15-minute drive to the center of Sorrento. This small town is wonderfully located over steep white cliffs and offers a fantastic view over the Bay of Naples. Sorrento lies on a Tufa terrace and is enclosed by impressive rocks of the limestone mountains. For 2000 years visitors from all over the world have been attracted to Sorrento by breathtaking sunsets and the fragrances of orange and lemon gardens. Enjoy a guided visit of the old town, stroll along the colorful streets and admire the beautiful churches, the most famous the Cathedral, in Romanesque style dedicated to the Saints Giacomo and Filippo and built during the 15th  century. Stop in the Main Square, Piazza Tasso, which is the center of the Sorrentine life and  enjoy the wonderful panorama on the Gulf of Naples from the Gardens overlooking the port. Your shuttle bus will then take you to the farm house were you will experience the work of local modern farmers! Take your time to taste local fresh products such as Caprese salad, eggplants, bruschetta, local wine and limoncello. Return back by shuttle to your ship.

Founded in the 6th century B.C. by Greeks from Naples, Taormina was subsequently taken over by the Romans. Many of its narrow cobblestone streets are closed to traffic, making the main part of Taormina accessible only by foot. Your guide will take you on a guided walk that includes the Piazza Vittorio Emanuele and the bustling main street of Corso Umberto, lined with former mansions of enchanting architecture and balconies that brim with flowers. Stop briefly in the inner courtyard of the medieval Corvaja Palace and enjoy the panoramic views of the bay and snow-capped Mount Etna in the distance as you gaze from the balcony of Piazza IX Aprile. Follow your guide up the narrow street that leads to the Greco-Roman Theatre. Taormina’s most famous antique dates back to the 2nd and 3rd centuries B.C. and still hosts performances today. The theatre’s dramatic location is nothing less than breathtaking. The tiny village of Castelmola is strategically located near Taormina, a splendid site with panoramic views. The focus of the village is the attractive Piazzetta del Duomo with its fine, intricate paving. From various points there are wonderful views of Mount Etna, the north coast and the beaches below. You will have time to indulge in browsing the many shops and boutiques that line the main street.

In a private house in the village, "Bar Vitelli," houses a collection of local artisans' tools and photographs taken when Francis Ford Coppola shot scenes of "The Godfather II."  After a typical refreshment  begin a walking tour along the village's main street past two Churches of the 15th and 16th centuries, ( Santa Lucia and San Michele ) and to enjoy the view over the valley. Continue to Forza d'Agro, a 20-minute drive towards Taormina, a charming little village overlooking the Arab-Norman castle of Capo Sant'Alessio. In 1990, Al Pacino and Sophia Coppola arrived there to shoot scenes for the film, "The Godfather III." From the main square, a lane leads up to the circular steps, which ascend to the Gothic-Catalan portal in front of the Church of St. Agostino also known as “Triade. “  Before departing, see the Baroque Chiesa Madre.

From there it will be a short walk to the amazing and impressive Greco-Roman theatre that is Taormina's iconic landmark. Like the town, the theatre dates back to the 3rd century BC. The Greeks did an incredible job of siting it - its width and acoustic qualities are so inimitable that it is still used for open-air concerts today. The Romans, who came later, did some work on the theatre but even they were unable to vastly improve on the original. Explore the theatre, and make sure you turn around and appreciate the astounding view of Mount Etna looming above the town and the Bay of Naxos below. Once the guided visit is done, spend some free time independently exploring Taormina’s main street, Corso Umberto. By bus you will reach the port of Giardini Naxos , board a boat and motor out into the bay. Your destination is the fabled Blue Grotto. Glide slowly into this sea cave to witness the famed blue glow that reflects off the water. Afterwards, snack on fresh almond cookies before heading to the inviting waters off Isla Bella for a refreshing swim. Dry off and enjoy the scenic cruise back to the pier.

Your excursion begins with a 30-minute drive to the small Baroque village of Perast for a walking tour in this pedestrian only village. See the Cathedral of St. Nicholas and other monuments including the Parish Church, the 12th century Sveti Djordje Church, and the Sveti Nikola Church, built between the 15th and 17th centuries . In a local restaurant, you’ll taste some typical sweets, made from an original recipe used during the Baroque period. You will have some free time before boarding a private motor boat to Gospa od Skrpjela, a Baroque-style church situated on one of two islets in the bay of Kotor, across from Perast.  The islet is man made, and its original church was built in 1452.  You'll view the stunning present church,Our Lady of the Rocks, built in 1632, and enlarged in 1722.  You'll see 68 magnificent paintings by Tripo Kokolja, a famous 17th century Baroque artist from Perast whose most important painting, The Death of the Virgin, is nearly 33 feet long.  Rejoin your bus for the return drive back to Kotor for a city walking tour through UNESCO protected Old Kotor.  At the end of guided portion, you will have free time for shopping and the opportunity to explore the town of Kotor on your own before returning independently to the ship.

Your tour will begin with a stunning speed boat ride from Kotor to Blue Cave, where you will experience the most unique views of the Bay of Kotor and Lustica Penninsula. Once arrived at Ivanova Korita, located at the foot of Mount Lovcen National Park, and after a tour introduction and safety briefing you will receive your helmet, board your 2-person ATV and take the asphalt road towards the Ivanov Konak restaurant, from where you will take the Austro - Hungarian off road for 5 miles (8km) across Lovcen Mountain National Park. During this tour you will enjoy the beautiful refreshing shadow of the thick beech forest that embraces the road like a tunnel. A photo stop will be made at the place that provides the most attractive view of the  2 highest peaks on Lovcen followed by the place where King Nikola used to arrive to take a rest and enjoy the stunning view of Budva Riviera, Boka Bay and Tivat. Leaving the off road behind, you will pass one of the oldest katuns in Lovcen, continue along the asphalt road  and arrive at Ivanova Korita, where your adventure will conclude.

From the port of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a motor coach will take you on a panoramic tour. You will ascend steep slopes up the serpentine road with 25 curves to Lovcen Mountain, through an area of beautiful contrasts. The soaring Montenegrin mountains tower on one side, while opposite them is the sublime beauty of one of the world’s most attractive bays. The road will take you to the picturesque village of Njegusi where you will enjoy local snacks that consist of  smoked ham, cheese, homemade bread, and wine.Rejoin the coach and proceed to the town of Cetinje, to visit the Museum of King Nikola. Then follow the scenic route through the popular summer resort of the Budva Riviera, as you head back to Kotor.  Kotor’s Old Quarter was developed within a small triangular area enclosed by town walls. Your experienced guide will direct your attention to the structures that were built by the Venetians from the 15th to mid-18th centuries. They completely enclose the Old Town and form a unique fortification capable of resisting lengthy attacks and sieges. You will then continue to see the exterior of the 12th century Cathedral of St. Triphon, which features a Romanesque basilica whose nave is separated from the aisles by alternating square pillars and antique columns. 

 

Please note:  There are 40 steps to enter the Museum of King Nikola. Wear comfortable walking shoes as there will be some walking on cobblestones. The drive from Kotor to Njegusi Village includes driving over a narrow mountain road with 24 switchbacks. Guests easily affected by motion sickness will need to take this into consideration.

          

 

 

 

Old Kotor was developed within a small triangular area enclosed by town walls extending to the Fort of St. John. Your experienced guide will direct your attention to structures that were built by the Venetians from the 15th to the mid-18th centuries. They completely enclose the Old Town and form a unique fortification capable of resisting lengthy attacks and sieges. You then continue to the 12th century Cathedral of St. Triphon, which features a Romanesque basilica whose nave is separated from the aisles by alternating square pillars and antique columns. Next, you’ll visit the Maritime Museum, showcasing the rich maritime heritage of this area. At the conclusion of the guided tour, you will have free time to explore Kotor independently, before returning to the yacht.

Known from ancient times of Konalve area cuisine the Prsut (smoked ham), is regarded as their most respected food. The best complement to Prsut is cow, goat or sheep cheese, and certainly bread baked under the Peka (iron bell covered with hot coals. One of the most famous meals  of Konavle is veal and potatoes baked under the iron bell. Times have changed, but the recipes and technology of preparing meals has remained the same at Novakovic Family house. The always fresh natural ingredients, and the old fashion ways of preparing them has long been a family secret. With this delicious meal, you will also have a glass of good wine, prepared from grapes grown in their own vineyards, kept for wine fans with special treatment. Your half day adventure starts near Fort Lovrjenac in the small port called Pile. Accompanied by instructors, you will set off by kayak to explore the caves and beauty of Lokrum Island where you will have free time for swimming or island exploring.  In the 12th century, Benedictine monks built a monastery on the island, and they occupied it for over 600 years. See the remains of the monastery, a large part of which has been converted into a residence for Maximillian, Emperor of Mexico, who has owned the island since the 19th century.  You will see plants from all over the world growing here by a little lake called Mrtvo More (meaning Dead Sea), situated in the center of the island, which links with the open sea by an underground channel. Just before departing Lokrum Island, enjoy picnic-style refreshments. Upon your return, you’ll agree that this easy paddling in kayaks is a unique way to get acquainted with Dubrovnik from the seaside!

Continue your trip toward Gruda Village where Antonia Ruskovic has kept the tradition of the ancient handcraft of silk production. Silk is one of the oldest textile fibers known to mankind. The silk thread produced here is mostly used for embroidering the beautiful national costume of the Konalve region. You will be able to share in this magnificent cultural endeavor as you produce a silk thread in the age-old, traditional manner. Listen to an explanation of the whole process, from cocoon boiling, to thread reeling, dyeing, plying, reeling, weaving, and embroidering.  You will enjoy the hospitality of a host in the village for a welcome drink and cake. After this very unique experience you will continue your trip toward Dubrovnik for the guided walking tour of the Old Town.

Get ready for an adventure at sea.  You will board a luxurious inflatable zodiac boat in the Old Town Port and cruise along Lokrum Island and the old city walls which look very impressive from the sea side.  You will have the opportunity to admire the old city of Dubrovnik and take pictures. Continue with a cruise along the Lapad Peninsula and pass close by the charming Grebeni Lighthouse as you head toward Kolocep Island.  You will continue to the outer side of Kolocep island for an hour of snorkeling or swimming at the Modra Spilja Cave.  Proceed to the other side of the island of Kolocep, to the settlement  of Donje Celo which has a beautiful and very popular sandy beach. Here you will have free time to relax in the sun and swim or to ride on a tube through the beautiful bay of Donje Celo. Depart from there to beautiful and picturesque Zaton Bay where a light lunch and drinks will be served at Restaurant Orsan before you  return to Dubrovnik.

Prepared by using local organic ingredients and influenced by many, the Dalmatian cuisine is traditional, harmonious and refreshing. This tour will take you to the busy and vibrant fruit, vegetable, and fish markets where fresh ingredients are chosen and brought to the facilities where the magic begins. Depart Split by motor coach to Klis and the Stella Croatica Ethno Village, a family run producer of traditional Dalmatian delicacies. Begin with a walk through the orchard and olive grove along a winding stone path through the middle of a garden and further through Aroma Park, rich with aromatic herbs and spices specific to Dalmatia. You will be served a welcome drink of liquor made from cherries while your hostess explains the elements of the stone village there. You will see the old way of life, unit by unit; fireplace, wine cellar, sleeping room. You will see basic parts of the houses with all the furniture and equipment that was used in them. After free time for exploring, the bread preparing demonstration begins. Then you will learn more about olive oil and its benefits and how to recognize a good olive oil. You will taste two types of oil - extra virgin olive oil and oil obtained by pressing together olive fruit and whole lemons. You will see the practices and traditional ways of preparing Dalmatian desserts.  All products are made by hand and according to old recipes with particular attention paid to the quality and nutritional value.  You will have the opportunity to taste arancini, limuncini, sugared almonds, prune cake, fig cake, fig and prune jam, and time in the showroom to shop. Return to Spilt and take a guided orientation walking tour including the Diocletian Palace.

Leaving the town of Split, you will take a 75-minute drive by coach to the famous Krka River Waterfalls. Located in lovely Krka National Park, the falls cascade over 17 natural barriers. Krka is one of the seven National Parks in Croatia and was formed to protect the Krka River. The whole area is rich with endemic species - vegetation as well as birds and fish. This tour will take you to the most attractive part of the park – the Skradinski Buk Waterfalls. The highest waterfall is 151 feet high which makes it the highest gypsum barrier in Europe. Above the falls there is a large plateau that offers spectacular views of the area. Your guided visit to the park will include a small ethnological exhibit and the old mill which is still in use.There is a path around the falls and you will have two hours of free time to explore before your 75-minute drive back to Split.

You will board your motor coach for the 90-minute drive to Pnsici Village and the Cetina River. For thousands of years the Cetina River has been crafting a beautiful canyon, creating miraculous forms in the stone of its riverbed. This crystal-clear river with a temperature pleasant enough for swimming, offers a true untouched nature experience. The 590-foot cliffs, cascades, lakes, underground tunnels and the 131-foot-high Gubavica Waterfall are on the agenda today. There are peaceful waters as well as Class I and II rapids interspersed during the approximately 3 – 3 ½ -hour rafting adventure. After a lot of excitement you will arrive at the Radmanove Mlinice restaurant where you will have some refreshments and enjoy a nice lunch. After lunch you will have a 45-minute drive back to Split.

 

Please note: Depending on the water level and with safety in mind one small section of the river may be redirected to walking. Guests must read, fill out and sign a waiver prior to departure of this tour. Bring your swimsuit and towel. You will be given a life jacket, paddle, helmet, waterproof suit and shoes.

            

 

 

 

Take a thrilling boat ride to visit the past and see beauty of the sea during this half-day outing. Departing the pier, begin your tour with a fast inflatable boat ride along the Split Riviera towards the Town of Trogir, situated on a small island squeezed in between the mainland and the larger island of Ciovo. The tiny island is connected to the mainland by a bridge. Except for the green parks, the entire island is occupied by spectacular constructions of stone-houses, palaces, churches, monasteries, towers, walls etc. The streets are narrow and they truly give a feel of how life may have been in the past. During your visit, you will see the main attraction in Trogir - the Cathedral of St. Lawrence. This 13th century building is probably the finest example of sacral architecture in Croatia. The unusual construction with three naves and three semi-circular apses dominates the whole town. Other fine buildings that will be viewed are the Town Loggia, the Town Hall, the Cipiko Palace etc. Depart Trogir on your inflatable boat toward Duga Uvala Beach at Ciovo Island. At the completion of an approximate 30-minute cruise, you will find yourself at the beautifully secluded bay with a pebble beach and crystal waters. Here, time will be afforded for swimming (approximately 2 hrs) before re-joining your boat for the cruise to a nearby Yacht Marina for a nice light lunch before going back back to Split.

The Old Town of Split is built on and around the spectacular Roman Palace erected by the Roman Emperor Diocletian in the 4th century.  Your walking tour starts at the Palace where the Cathedral of St. Duje sits in the center of Split. Other sites include the Golden Gate, the Silver Gate, and the Peristyle Square. Depart Split toward “Pantan” Old Mill to enjoy local specialties (snacks of smoked ham, cheese, and olives) while a group of singers entertains you with local Dalmatian songs. A 45-minute drive will take you to Trogir, situated on a small island connected to the mainland by a bridge. You will visit the Cathedral of St. Lawrence. This 13th century building is probably the finest example of sacral architecture in Croatia. The main portal carved by the local artist “Radovan” in the 13th century is world famous. Other fine buildings that will be viewed are the Town Loggia, the Town Hall, and the Cipiko Palace.

At Stefanic Agroturism, which is located on the picturesque slopes near Motovun in a natural and traditional environment, you will have the opportunity to enjoy lunch which will include delicious local truffle specialties and Istrian wine. Reboard your coach once again and you will take in the picturesque countryside as you make your way back to the ship.

The hilly Istrian inland is romantic, mystical, and beautiful.  From Rovinj you will travel by coach on a 60-minute drive to Motovun, a hilltop town that has preserved its medieval ambiance in its narrow streets within the town walls, preserved in their entire length. Walk along Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance buildings to the main square dominated by the 13th century belfry of St. Stephen's Church. Free time in Motovun is followed by a scenic uphill drive to the village of Vrh.  You will enjoy the view of the surrounding deep valleys, proud towers, vineyards, hilltops, and beautiful Mount Ucka. At nearly 1,300 feet above sea level, Vrh was once known as the “Istrian Lookout.” You will have lunch in a traditional Istrian "konoba." After lunch your drive will continue through rolling hills to Draguc, the hidden pearl of Istrian medieval inheritance. Visit St. Rocco's Church and see its greatest treasures - writings and fresco paintings from the 16th century. Board the coach once again and enjoy the sights of the picturesque countryside as you are driven back to the ship.

The water in the fjord is less transparent and less salty than the open sea due to many springs, and the temperatures of the water in the fjord fluctuate. The water here also contains a large amount of plankton and oxygen so it provides abundant flora and fauna. The area is a natural hatching site for many fish species but is known for its oysters which even impressed Anthony Bourdain. The best way to visit Rovinj Archipelago and Lim Fjord is by boat, so join this adventure and see the beauties from a different perspective while trying the tasty shellfish of this region.

Disembark, meet your tour guide and drop off your luggage at their storage facility to start the tour. Venice is composed of more than 100 tiny islets, packed closely together around canals. Venice city is in a lagoon, protected from the sea by a long strip of land called the Lido. You will visit two islands—Murano and  Burano. Nearly half of the lagoon’s islands are deserted but the main islands of Burano, Murano and Torcello are well worth a visit. In 1291, when furnaces were banned from Venice as a fire precaution, the manufacturers of fine glassware were transferred to Murano. Glassware was one of the few Venetian exports and as such, the secrets of this skillful craft were tightly guarded. Glassmaking was considered a privileged occupation, and glass artisans were allowed to marry into the nobility. Today, the Murano products of blown-glass mirrors, chandeliers, goblets, and intricate works of art are renowned worldwide. There will be time for a visit to one of the many workshops and for shopping. The island of Burano will be next. Brightly painted houses decorate this small and cheerful fishing village. Burano is well known for its lace-making. In the 16th century, the lace industry was at its peak, and Burano was cited throughout Europe for producing the finest lace. You will have the chance to admire these beautiful works that require hours of labor, and maybe even purchase some, if you like. At the end, motor launch will transfer you back to the port where your luggage will be ready to be re-collected, you will then board your private vehicle to the airport.
