Sibenik was founded by Croats more than a thousand years ago dating back to 1066. Sibenik has a well-preserved historical core of buildings and numerous architectural monuments. You will see its ancient fortresses and the Gothic – Renaissance Cathedral of St. Jacob, as well as narrow streets known as “kalas,” numerous churches around this town and its surroundings. Your walking tour will include a the old part of the town where you will visit the finest sites including the UNESCO world heritage site Cathedral of St. Jacob, one of the finest sacral monuments in Dalmatia.  You will see the exterior of City Hall, the Baroque Orthodox Church, as well as the historic nucleus with its stone streets, commercial and crafts center. You will board a motor coach and head along the Adriatic Coast toward the village of Stankovci.  You will visit the House of Dalmatian´s smoke house, learn about the method of production and specifics of Dalmatian prosciutto, taste and of course buy the products exactly where they're produced. This  manufacturing facility is equipped with the latest technological solutions, but also whenever possible, they are using natural system of drying using the strong Mediterranean wind - "bura." The family has lived in their traditional style home for generations, working the land, producing grape brandy, olive oil, and wine the same way their ancestors did. Your gracious host and chef,  Mr. Niko Novakovic will introduce and prepare local specialties that will be cooked just for you! The food they will prepare and serve is mainly home-grown, while the olive oil is produced locally. Known from ancient times of Konalve area cuisine the Prsut (smoked ham), is regarded as their most respected food. The best complement to Prsut is cow, goat or sheep cheese, and certainly bread baked under the Peka (iron bell covered with hot coals. One of the most famous meals  of Konavle is veal and potatoes baked under the iron bell. Times have changed, but the recipes and technology of preparing meals has remained the same at Novakovic Family house. The always fresh natural ingredients, and the old fashion ways of preparing them has long been a family secret. With this delicious meal, you will also have a glass of good wine, prepared from grapes grown in their own vineyards, kept for wine fans with special treatment. In a pleasant ambiance, far away from city jams, with your kind hosts, you will feel just like you were at home.

Leaving the pier by coach, you will begin with a brief drive through Messina for a 45-minute trip via the freeway and then motor along the coastal road bordered by villas, flowering gardens, and picturesque villages to reach Savoca. Its scenic beauty and historical-artistic heritage makes Savoca, one of the most attractive and unknown places of Taormina. In a private house in the village, "Bar Vitelli," houses a collection of local artisans' tools and photographs taken when Francis Ford Coppola shot scenes of "The Godfather II."  After a typical refreshment  begin a walking tour along the village's main street past two Churches of the 15th and 16th centuries, ( Santa Lucia and San Michele ) and to enjoy the view over the valley. Continue to Forza d'Agro, a 20-minute drive towards Taormina, a charming little village overlooking the Arab-Norman castle of Capo Sant'Alessio. In 1990, Al Pacino and Sophia Coppola arrived there to shoot scenes for the film, "The Godfather III." From the main square, a lane leads up to the circular steps, which ascend to the Gothic-Catalan portal in front of the Church of St. Agostino also known as “Triade.“  Before departing, see the Baroque Chiesa Madre.
