Your tour will begin on the pier and soon you will find yourself in the heart of this magnificent Old Town. This walking tour includes a visit to the Cathedral of St. Anastasia, the finest example of Romanesque architecture in Zadar and built in 1324. It is dedicated to St. Anastasia, whose stone sarcophagus is in the apse to the left of the high altar. Further on your way you will pass close to the Church of St. Donatus which is believed to have been built at the beginning of the 9th century. It is circular in plan, with three naves.  You will visit the 16th century St Mary Church with a Romanesque bell-tower built at the beginning of the 12th century. On the upper floor of the convent, open to the public are rooms containing a collection of goldsmith´s work, relics and other valuable items. Your tour will end with a Marascino Liqueur Tasting. Liqueur production in Zadar is almost 400 years old. This liqueur is a bittersweet, clear liqueur flavored with Marasca cherries, which are grown in Dalmatia, Croatia, mostly around the city of Zadar. Honey is also part of the ancient recipe. The recipe for this liqueur was created by the apothecaries of the Dominican monastery at Zara, now Zadar, in Dalmatia, at the beginning of the 16th century.

Of course, the people of Dubrovnik are also fiercely proud of their own fascinating history which your guide will also inform you about, alongside the Game of Thrones commentary. This is an opportunity to explore the beautiful natural setting of the green and fertile Konalve Valley. You will board your motor coach for a scenic drive to the village of Ljuta where you will visit the Old Mill called Mlinica Dvori which is still in function today. Here you will be able to see a demonstration of flour production using traditional methods in a water power stone mill. Enjoy a welcome drink of home-made liqueurs or a soft drink and dried figs. Continue your trip toward Gruda Village where Antonia Ruskovic has kept the tradition of the ancient handcraft of silk production. Silk is one of the oldest textile fibers known to mankind. The silk thread produced here is mostly used for embroidering the beautiful national costume of the Konalve region. You will be able to share in this magnificent cultural endeavor as you produce a silk thread in the age-old, traditional manner. Listen to an explanation of the whole process, from cocoon boiling, to thread reeling, dyeing, plying, reeling, weaving, and embroidering.  You will enjoy the hospitality of a host in the village for a welcome drink and cake. After this very unique experience you will continue your trip toward Dubrovnik for the guided walking tour of the Old Town.

Get ready for an adventure at sea.  You will board a luxurious inflatable zodiac boat in the Old Town Port and cruise along Lokrum Island and the old city walls which look very impressive from the sea side.  You will have the opportunity to admire the old city of Dubrovnik and take pictures. Continue with a cruise along the Lapad Peninsula and pass close by the charming Grebeni Lighthouse as you head toward Kolocep Island.  You will continue to the outer side of Kolocep island for an hour of snorkeling or swimming at the Modra Spilja Cave.  Proceed to the other side of the island of Kolocep, to the settlement  of Donje Celo which has a beautiful and very popular sandy beach. Here you will have free time to relax in the sun and swim or to ride on a tube through the beautiful bay of Donje Celo. Depart from there to beautiful and picturesque Zaton Bay where a light lunch and drinks will be served at Restaurant Orsan before you  return to Dubrovnik.

Your excursion begins with a 30-minute drive to the small Baroque village of Perast for a walking tour in this pedestrian only village. See the Cathedral of St. Nicholas and other monuments including the Parish Church, the 12th century Sveti Djordje Church, and the Sveti Nikola Church, built between the 15th and 17th centuries . In a local restaurant, you’ll taste some typical sweets, made from an original recipe used during the Baroque period. You will have some free time before boarding a private motor boat to Gospa od Skrpjela, a Baroque-style church situated on one of two islets in the bay of Kotor, across from Perast.  The islet is man made, and its original church was built in 1452.  You'll view the stunning present church,Our Lady of the Rocks, built in 1632, and enlarged in 1722.  You'll see 68 magnificent paintings by Tripo Kokolja, a famous 17th century Baroque artist from Perast whose most important painting, The Death of the Virgin, is nearly 33 feet long.  Rejoin your bus for the return drive back to Kotor for a city walking tour through UNESCO protected Old Kotor.  At the end of guided portion, you will have free time for shopping and the opportunity to explore the town of Kotor on your own before returning independently to the ship.

Your tour will begin with a stunning speed boat ride from Kotor to Blue Cave, where you will experience the most unique views of the Bay of Kotor and Lustica Penninsula. Sun rays reflect inside the cave and cause a beautiful shade of blue water for which this cave is best known. You will visit this natural hall with its crystal-clear waters that are transparent down to the cave's 43 feet (13meters) deep seafloor. Next you will make a stop at Fisherman's Village that offers a unique local experience. All the culinary specialties that are prepared in the restaurant are made from the freshly caught fish and sea food and organically grown in the nearby garden vegetables. After a welcome drink, you wil have free time to enjoy the spacious and comfortable private beach with sun beds, the pristine sea and impressive views on the open sea and entrance of Boka Kotor Bay.  A 3-course lunch will be served paired with 3 glasses of wine, followed by some more free time for the beach and swimming.  Your Blue Cave and Lunch at Fisherman's Village tour will conclude with a 45-minutes scenic speed boat ride back to Kotor.

Once arrived at Ivanova Korita, located at the foot of Mount Lovcen National Park, and after a tour introduction and safety briefing you will receive your helmet, board your 2-person ATV and take the asphalt road towards the Ivanov Konak restaurant, from where you will take the Austro - Hungarian off road for 5 miles (8km) across Lovcen Mountain National Park. During this tour you will enjoy the beautiful refreshing shadow of the thick beech forest that embraces the road like a tunnel. A photo stop will be made at the place that provides the most attractive view of the  2 highest peaks on Lovcen followed by the place where King Nikola used to arrive to take a rest and enjoy the stunning view of Budva Riviera, Boka Bay and Tivat. Leaving the off road behind, you will pass one of the oldest katuns in Lovcen, continue along the asphalt road  and arrive at Ivanova Korita, where your adventure will conclude.

From the port of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a motor coach will take you on a panoramic tour. You will ascend steep slopes up the serpentine road with 25 curves to Lovcen Mountain, through an area of beautiful contrasts. The soaring Montenegrin mountains tower on one side, while opposite them is the sublime beauty of one of the world’s most attractive bays. The road will take you to the picturesque village of Njegusi where you will enjoy local snacks that consist of  smoked ham, cheese, homemade bread, and wine.Rejoin the coach and proceed to the town of Cetinje, to visit the Museum of King Nikola. Then follow the scenic route through the popular summer resort of the Budva Riviera, as you head back to Kotor.  Kotor’s Old Quarter was developed within a small triangular area enclosed by town walls. Your experienced guide will direct your attention to the structures that were built by the Venetians from the 15th to mid-18th centuries. They completely enclose the Old Town and form a unique fortification capable of resisting lengthy attacks and sieges. The drive from Kotor to Njegusi Village includes driving over a narrow mountain road with 24 switchbacks. Old Kotor was developed within a small triangular area enclosed by town walls extending to the Fort of St. John. Your experienced guide will direct your attention to structures that were built by the Venetians from the 15th to the mid-18th centuries. They completely enclose the Old Town and form a unique fortification capable of resisting lengthy attacks and sieges. You then continue to the 12th century Cathedral of St. Triphon, which features a Romanesque basilica whose nave is separated from the aisles by alternating square pillars and antique columns. Next, you’ll visit the Maritime Museum, showcasing the rich maritime heritage of this area. At the conclusion of the guided tour, you will have free time to explore Kotor independently, before returning to the yacht.

Take a short walk through the olive grove, before visiting their new, modern olive press.  Afterwards, when you see the old olive press, you’ll understand how the new system has made life a lot easier! At the old mill you’ll have the opportunity to sample the olive oil, with Ilija Moric on hand to answer any questions you may have. This is followed by a buffet consisting of a delicious variety of homemade food and drinks such as smoked ham, bacon, sausages, homemade cheese, salad and apple pie. At ancient Olympia, 25 miles east of the small fishing village of Katákolon, you will step back 2,000 years into the past, to the days of the original Olympic games. Imagine the area crowded with athletes, orators, merchants and philosophers. Picture the Temple of Zeus and its 40-foot statue of the god, which was one of the 7 Ancient Wonders. The ruins of the temple are still visible today. Deep in the past lies the roar of the spectators as the athletes took their marks on the marble starting blocks that are still in place. Spectators looked on, surrounded by temples, treasuries, porticoes and statues that today are reduced to ruins. After your visit to Olympia, you will take the short walk to the newly renovated museum. The exhibits here are findings from the excavations at the site. The most prized exhibit is a 4th-century Parian marble statue of Hermes of Praxitelis, a masterpiece of classical sculpture from the Temple of Hera. Other exhibits to visit are a sculptured head of Hera and the pediments and metopes from the Temple of Zeus. Before returning to the port of Katakolon you will have some free time in the village of Olympia.

The ruins of the temple are still visible today. After your visit to Olympia, you will take the short walk to the newly renovated museum. The exhibits here are findings from the excavations at the site. The most prized exhibit is a 4th century Parian marble statue of Hermes of Praxitelis, a masterpiece of classical sculpture from the Temple of Hera. Other exhibits to visit are a sculptured head of Hera and the pediments and metopes from the Temple of Zeus. At the Magna Grecia Farm located in the heart of a traditional agricultural region you will visit the olive grove and learn the history of the olive tree and the tasty, peppery fruit produced here. You'll see the vineyards and encounter farm animals as well. You are invited to immerse yourself in the beauty and charm of this estate and in the delicious flavors of Greek cuisine by sampling a variety of mezes (appetizer dishes) along with local wine. Flirt with Greek culture as you watch a short demonstration of Syrtaki dance, and maybe try a few steps yourself. 

 

The small fishing village of Katákolon will be your gateway to the mystical site of ancient Olympia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site,  25 miles away. The sanctuary of Olympia has the appearance of a park, and as you step back 2,000 years into the past, imagine the area crowded with athletes, orators, merchants and philosophers surrounding the Temple of Zeus with its 40-foot statue of the god, the ruins of which you will see today. Enjoy your refreshments as you are entertained by the sights and sounds of Greek music and Zorba dancing. Returning to Katakolon, if you wish to stay in town to shop or explore on your own you are welcome to do so, but then must return to the ship on your own.

Monemvasia is unique among ruined medieval cities in that it is entirely built on a rock that appears to be barren when seen from the mainland. Your tour will commence with a walk through the narrow streets at the castle, where the streets are so tiny that in many places only two people can walk side by side. While strolling along these narrow lanes you will see ruined houses and Byzantine churches and Church of Christ Elkomenos. This cathedral dates back to the 13th century, but features alterations made during the Venetian occupation of Monemvasia. Then you will visit “Liotrivi”(Olive Oil Factory), a fully restored historic mansion that previously was the home of the family Ritsos, where the world-renowned poet lived during his childhood.  You will have a guided tour in the old olive mill and learn the traditional method of producing extra virgin olive oil.  You will walk to the vineyards and the olive groves. In a patio area, an experienced cook will knead and bake traditional bread in a wood-oven. The bread made, along with other local products, will be served to you in an appetizer buffet under the olive trees where you will have the opportunity to also taste the famous wines of Monemvasia.

The ancient remains of Athens constitute one of the brightest jewels of the Mediterranean. The Ancient City and the Acropolis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, have been kept fairly intact. You will see perhaps the most famous temple of the Ancient City, the Parthenon. Walking up a winding path towards the Acropolis, you will pass through the Propylaea, which is the entrance to the Acropolis and see the Erechtheum Temple, built between 421-405 B.C. and famous for its exquisite attention to detail. You will also see the Porch of the Caryatids, (or Porch of the Maidens), in the distance. Reinforced by man, the natural fortress of the Acropolis stands 230 feet above the city. You cannot help but be impressed by the wide-sweeping view below. The intent of the new Acropolis Museum is to house every artifact found on the archaeological site.  You will see the unsurpassed quality of the masterpieces of ancient Athens, including the entire sculpted decoration of the Parthenon as it was on the building. You will see many architectural phases and thousands of finds that provide valuable insight into the everyday activities of ancient Greece.
