Pre-Departure & Embarkation

Windstar requires guests to arrive at the pier with a negative COVID-19 test result in hand. Windstar also accepts medically observed telemedicine tests.

  • Proof of a negative antigen test (professionally administered or medically observed via telemedicine) taken no more than two days before you’re scheduled to board your ship
    • Search the internet for an at home medically observed telemedicine test for travel
    • The two-day window is not time dependent; if you board on a Friday the test can be taken as early as Wednesday
  • Proof of a valid negative PCR test taken within three days of your scheduled boarding time
    • It must be administered or observed by a pharmacy, laboratory, or healthcare entity
    • The three-day window is not time dependent; if you board on a Friday the test can be taken as early as Tuesday

Guests who show up at embarkation without a negative test result in hand will be administered an antigen test by Windstar and charged a $69 fee.

The U.S. State Department advises travelers to review the CDC's latest guidance on travel restrictions or research country specific travel advisories on their website. We recommend you check both sources before traveling internationally. The CDC keeps a list of specific groups of people who may be at higher risk of severe illness; check with your doctor before travelling if you fall into this category. Guests are responsible for complying with any COVID-19 test requirement or standard imposed by any country visited during travel. Some countries are requiring travel insurance to cover COVID-19 related costs. Windstar recommends guests research each country and its requirements and highly recommends purchasing travel insurance to cover COVID-19 services.
